Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On June 14th I dropped off a 1982 Ford Econoline chassis Class-C motorhome at Performance Auto & Diesel for a routine check on the engine due to some backfiring. It was assumed that a tune-up and carburettor cleaning & adjustment were the only problems. On Friday at 2:00pm I contacted them and was told that indeed a tune-up, and carburettor cleaning were needed, and new front shocks were needed, this sounded good and was all routine, and things were to be done by 5:00pm as it was understood I needed it for the weekend (next day). By 5:00pm I had received no call, so at 5:10pm I called them and asked what was going on, the response was as follows: "Sigghhhh, well we had some problems, and it's not ready, it looks like there might be some more problems, we're not sure..." I asked when it would be ready, and he defiantly told me: "Well not until tomorrow afternoon at best, probably Monday, I'm not a miracle worker...". I angrily tried to pry out of him what was going on, when eventually he basically admitted that his technicians had gone home for the day at 5:00pm, and the problem was that they had accidentally got the wrong length plug-wires for the tune-up. I told him this was ridiculous and that they could've gone down the road to get the right part and taken another 30 minutes to finish the job right, and he basically tried to say that there probably more to the problem then just the plug-wires anyway....

So after being totally brushed-off and being very angry about the fact that this motorhome would not be ready for a bachelor-party road trip to Mohegan sun, I basically just swallowed my pride and waited until Monday to get the motorhome. So Monday comes around and I go to pick it up... I get there, pay for it, and tell him I'll have to come back after-hours when I have a ride. He tells me that apparently it was just the plug wires that was the problem, and so this means that the only reason I didn't have this rig for an awesome bachelor party road trip is because these idiots got the wrong length plug-wires and didn't want to hang around to finish the job. I go back at 7:00pm, and I get in to take it home when I notice that the rubber gasket on the engine-cowling cover right between the driver & passenger seats is totally messed up and out of place. In some places it was in, and others it was out, I could stick 3 fingers through to the engine compartment... Next I go to start it, and nothing... Dead battery? who knows... Next a mechanic who was there late comes out and offers to jump start me, so I agree. He hooks up and I get it started after messing with the pedal and keys... So I go out to close the hood with the mechanic there when I notice a pair of long-nose spark-plug pliers just sitting on part of the frame in the engine compartment... I say: "Are those your pliers"? And he says: "Hey, I've been looking for those all afternoon"! So at this point I'm putting it all together and seeing that this place has stupidly delayed my pick-up time by getting the wrong plug wires, screwed up the gasket on my cowling and thrown it in there in a hurry without fixing it, and then some chump leaves his big, long pliers in the engine compartment where they could've fallen in while I drove off and could've shredded my belts and fan.... But there's more... finally after repeatedly having some trouble starting it over the next few days I realize that it's not the starter battery at all, it's actually the mechanics fault at Performance Auto Diesel because they knocked a power wire off of the throttle choke, and the engine could barely turn over without it... So basically these guys are sloppy, and unprofessional, and they hurry. None of this story is an exaggeration. On a side-note: The guy in line in front of me when I originally dropped it off was there for the third time with the same problem on his motor because they couldn't get it right, and when I've told everyone locally about my ordeal they just say: "Well there's your problem, you took it to that place". So apparently they have a bad reputation, and I've also heard that they've been evicted from one of their previous locations.

Check the palm beach county arrest records. He was arrested for drunk driving ( AGAIN ) while on lunch break while working for me. Mr Lopato is a mean drunk who is angry at the world for what he has done ALL BY HIMSELF with his addictions and shortcomings. Mad because I fired you for drinking on the job and lying about it. Very convincing Seth. Maybe you have some more lies for us that will be published on the net with NO FACT FINDING OR TRUTH FINDING whatsoever?

You can post whatever you want to on this slanderous site and it will be published as fact with no background or fact finding whatsoever. It has become the premier vehicle for low life's and the generally mentally ill that have no other outlet for there shortcomings but to attack those who keep themselves in check and own a business that actually employed them for a short period.

Brewer father and son are charged with failure to pay a variety of taxesBy Betty Adams [email protected]
Staff WriterAUGUSTA -- A father and son who ran automotive accessory businesses in Brewer have pleaded not guilty to a series of charges they failed to pay state sales, withholding and income taxes.Arthur Reardon, 55, of Brewer, was indicted last week by a grand jury in Kennebec County on three counts of theft by misapplication of sales and income withholding taxes, three counts of failure to collect, account for or pay over tax, and three counts of failure to pay Maine income tax.Nathan Reardon, 33, of Lake Worth, Fla., was indicted by the same grand jury on two counts of theft by misapplication of sales and withholding tax, two counts of failure to collect, account for or pay over tax, two counts of failure to pay Maine Income tax and two counts of failure to make and file Maine State tax returns. Both Reardons were arraigned Tuesday in Kennebec County Superior Court, where they entered their not guilty pleas to all the charges.Arthur Reardon, who is free on personal recognizance bail, said they had yet to retain attorneys. He also said he did not understand why both were indicted at the same time because the two men's businesses were not connected."There were two different locations, two different companies and two different times," he said.City of Brewer records show that Arthur Reardon operated Performance Auto and Diesel, which did retail sales of auto speed and performance parts, accessories and audio, at 17 North Main St., for several years. Later another business by the same name operated briefly at 541 Wilson St. It was owned by Performance Equity Inc.Assistant Attorney General Gregg Bernstein, the prosecutor in the case, said the charges were brought in Augusta because the Maine State Tax Assessor is based there.Bernstein declined to make any other comment about the Reardons.Arthur Reardon is accused of failing to collect and forward to the state more than $10,000 worth of sales tax revenue from customers of Auto and Diesel Performance between April 16, 2005, and Jan. 15, 2007, and failing to forward more than $10,000 of tax withheld from employees between April 16, 2005, and May 1, 2007.He also is accused of failing to pay state income tax for 2007, 2008 and 2009.Nathan Reardon is accused of failing to pay more than $10,000 in sales tax revenue he got from customers of Performance Auto and Diesel between April 17, 2007, and Oct. 15, 2008. He also is accused of failing to forward more than $1,000 in employee withholding taxes between Aug. 1, 2007, and Nov. 1, 2008.The remainder of the charges accuse him of failing to file 2007 and 2008 income tax returns and failing to pay taxes in those years. Betty Adams -- 621-5631

#4Author of original report

Wed, December 26, 2007

Haha, well thank you very much for your last comment, no really, you've outdone yourself, or should I say you've done yourself in. You see, nothing which I have stated here previously is in any way breaking any law. Now you might have ideas about slander, libel, defamation-of-character or some such thing, but in that arena you have no leg to stand on legally since everything I stated is either a fact, or else is a minor insult such as referring to personnel as "monkeys" based on their lackluster performance in terms of tools left behind. That being said, it seems as though you are also keenly aware that you have no legitimate legal leg to stand on, which is why you have resorted to threatening to file suit with the sole intent of incurring legal expenses upon me in order to defend against your proposed suit. My friend, you have shot yourself in the foot. First of all, since the reports on this site are not deleted and will show your intent, and second of all because there is a specific legal term for what you have insinuated, and that is "SANCTION". You see, when a plaintiff or plaintiff's lawyer files frivolous suits, or causes an unnecessarily lengthy legal proceeding with the sole intent of incurring financial expense ($20,000 according to you) to the defendant by way of legal expenses, this is illegal, and is cause for the defense attorney to file what is called sanctions against the plaintiff's lawyer. These can mean stiff monetary damages, or else punishment or even disbarment against the plaintiff attorney who might have brought about the frivolous claim(s). At the VERY LEAST, it means that damages are accessed to the plaintiff for cost of legal expense, whereby your whole threat of legal expense would become reversed unto yourself. So really, go right ahead and proceed with your "lawsuit". For one thing, you don't even have any concrete evidence to proceed against any particular business or individual, since at no time have I, the author "M", identified myself as anyone whom you have mentioned and assumed me to be. Who will the suit be against? A business, a person, the mysterious "M". Please.... This is the internet, where anyone can be anyone, and a 45 year old can claim to be a 16 year old girl in a blog, or person X can claim to be person Z. This story is known to over a dozen people, all of whom were not surprised to hear it, any of whom can be this author. If you are trying to draw me into some battle of words whereby I concretely identify myself, then you are outmatched, this profile is anonymous, and only leads to a nondescript email which Ripoffreport.com would not provide anyway. This is a public forum, and is no different than me standing on a soapbox shouting my claims of misfortune at your hand to the world. Of course you can try to sue Ripoffreport.com themselves, but as their website states, they have been sued dozens of times, and have won every single case hands down. Let's say you bring your case anyway, well ok, where is the slander (lying)?, where is the defamation (intentional public lying intended to harm character)? It just isn't there because every single thing I mentioned: cowling gasket, tool left in compartment, ordering wrong part, and untimely/non-exsistent notification, are all true, and are not exactly incendiary or otherworldly claims. It's not like I said you committed a heinous felony, I'm just saying your work was sloppy. This brings me to another point which is, when I say "you", I mean "Nathan Reardon" because Performance Auto & Diesel's website lists this person as the owner / operator, and this person is thereby responsible for their workers competence and quality of service. It's nothing personal, it's just matter-of-fact. If your upset, well then tough I guess, I mean I understand why you are upset; it is because a Google search of your business name now results in this report being the number 5 or 6 hit (which multiplies every time we comment back and forth by the way). That is not my doing either, that is a function of the internet. Now let's clean up a few mistakes you had in your last comment: First, the "starter battery" issue, well you see, a starter-battery doesn't "start the starter", but motorhomes have what's called a "house battery" which is deep-cycle for the lights, fans, pumps, etc.. and they also have a "starter battery" which is to start the engine (sometimes they have a bank of multiple batteries). This starter battery was the one which didn't work when the unit was first attempted to be started after completion of work at Performance Auto & Diesel, and was due to a loose wire which was not loose before the unit was dropped off, coincidence?.... maybe.... Next, the whole insult spree you go on about the magical transformation from a 1982 to 1983..... Well, Motorhome companies purchase the chassis' from the auto industry (Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc..) and they get around to completing the unit after the calendar year ends sometimes. So in this instance, the chassis which coincides with the VIN number is a 1982, but the motorhome is a model year 1983 from the motorhome company since it came offline in 1983. But of course you guys know this stuff already, since you are "rated #1 in 5 categories". Anyway, please bring your lawsuit, it will be very interesting to see whom it is brought against since you have no name to go on, and ultimately, if this author is somehow sued, the case will be rich with information and legal prowess for the author to defend against, and counter-sue the plaintiff (particularly since the author has a VERY close acquaintance who is a venerable partner at a prestigious law firm who will work for free and enjoy collecting counter-suit legal fees). Goodluck, no really, goodluck... Oh by the way, you realize that by checking the box to submit a rebuttal, that the state of Arizona is the only state with jurisdiction to try the case? Hahahaha

This camper is magic too - it goes back in time from and 82 to an 83 - obviously a liar. He attacks me and I had nothing to do with this transaction. He never called or complained, just made a report. We stayed to help him start the thing, but we dont go the extra mile- by the way he didnt tell us his batteries were 10 years old and junk. I wonder if I go to Wal-Mart at 11:00 pm after they are closed and tell them to make there employees stay and work because I want grapes - what would they say? Would they open the doors and turn on the lights and stay because I want grapes? I think not and anyone who expects that is more stupid than the notion that Wal-Mart would do that. This gut is a lonely boy with nothing more to do than vent at the wold around him he so desperately wants to be involved in. But the genetic bashing he got for brains will not allow him to fit in anywhere. You ought to watch who you are talking about and have a legitimate claim before filing this trash because you never know who you are going to set off. Matt you wanted this personal even though we have never met or done business with me so now it is personal. Bad descision, you obvioulsy dont know me or know anyone who really knows me because you would have never attacked me. I am going to ruin your life, things are about to get real difficult for you. My atty. is going to stomp the life right out of you. I hope you have lots of money becuse you are going to need a good legal defense. This was not verified or gone through the proper channels and you are now going to be sued for slander. See you soon Matt.

We are #1 in 5 catergories - we are the best. This was an attack on me not the business and it is unfounded and lies. This is one little boys opinion. Not verified by anyone but his lonely self in search of the next party. In his initial complaint he said it was an 82 now magically it has gotten younger and now it is an 83- WOW ITS MAGIC TOO. The doghouse was loose but he had warned us about it and said even he - the owner - could never get it to fit right. I suppose that we all should drive 2 hours away to pick up his wires, after we close and need to go home to our families - again pure genius. We order the parts and if they come in wrong we have to reorder them and that is life, not stupid or lazy or shody. The world and this shop do not revolve around you or your smelly home. I wonder if I go to Wal Mart after they close and ask them to open the doors and get to work even though they are closed to get me some Grapes because I am hungry what they would do? Maybe then I could be super cool and write a report like this clown. I think he thinks he gets smarter as his motor home travels through time to get younger. LOL. This guy is spouting off at the mouth to retaliate for something he has made up to sound important - this guy is a nobody and a liar - I have never met this clown in my life nor has he made a complaint with me or any of my staff. This site is the only one that would publish such garbage because IT DOES NOT VERIFY IT JUST PUBLISHES. So any loser that has nothing to do but spend lonely nights on the computer trying to get published can write whatever they want about whoever they want with no guidelines for truth or fact. You can change facts whenever you want, even the year of your problem child. This idiot says it was " The starter battery " what the hell is he talking about the starter doesn't have its own battery my mental midget. " My motor home wouldnt start " , but you drove it out of here - again magic. This was a personal attack on me and I was not at all involed in what transpired and was never complained to or even addressed. Things like " I heard " or " I think " are not facts and they are damaging and wrong. So now we will make this personal. People should watch what they say because you never know the details of the the person you are writing about or what they are capable of - see you soon Matt - see you in court, your life is about to get real difficult. My atty. is going to stomp you for everything you have. These are not facts, they are slander. I hope you have some money tucked away (like $20,000.00 for legal counsel) because I am going to drag you through the courts and you are going to regret the day you attacked me with no reason very soon. You obvioulsy don't know me or know anyone who knows me because you would have never started this.

Facts remain the same

I see there's been a rebuttal from Performance auto & diesel, and they did not refute any of the facts which I originally explained in my initial experience with them. Only mudslinging and name calling was employed, which are not even accurate. First off, this was not a junk heap full of spare parts, it was an excellent condition 1983 motorhome with 66,000 miles, and all appliances and parts worked fine, except for the backfiring which was caused by plug wires and tune-up issues. This should have been a straight-forward quick job for them from the beginning, but instead they got the wrong parts, and then didn't go the extra mile down the road to right the right parts, they just went home for the day and didn't bother to call me and let me know. ALL OF THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINTS REMAIN TRUE! The cowling gasket was completely messed up and was lazily re-assembled, the engine wouldn't start when I picked it up, they got the wrong plug-wire set and delayed my taking it by 3 days, and last but certainly not least, one of their monkeys left his long-nosed plug-wire pliers in the engine compartment sitting on the frame and I only noticed when I went to see why the engine didn't start (Thank god I took them out). I had heard bad things about performance auto diesel, and the only reason I took it there was because they are the only place big enough who can handle something on short notice like this. The reason Holden Family RV didn't fix it is not because the technicians aren't capable, it is because Holden Family RV doesn't have a service department, Rec Tech is an independent service center on the dealership property who handles repair, but they were booked solid for 5 days out, and they don't do chassis work, they only do camper work. SO basically the rebuttal from Performance auto diesel can be flushed down the drain, and all the original facts remain. If you ask any reputable and experienced mechanic in the Bangor area about these guys, then they will roll their eyes and tell you what they know. Maybe they do OK work sometimes, but their percentage of sloppiness is relatively much higher than the local competition, and that is the issue. I still laugh over the guy in front of me in line that day I went in who had the Briggs & Stratton weed wacker in for the 3rd time because they kept misdiagnosing it and not repairing it. So just read the tone and facts in all this and decide who is in the right.

Obviously an idiot - Holden Family RV - Matt the loser

#8UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 19, 2007

This guy claims he dealt with me and I am not the mechanic or the service writer he dealt with. He is pissed because the wrong parts came in for his old trash 82 motor home that has more junk in it than our local salvage yard. He missed " a killer bachelor party man " what a loser. How old are you anyway still looking for a road trip. The monkeys at Holden Family RV, which is where Matt (who works the counter)or "M" works, couldnt fix this unit so they brought it to us because we are the best. We fixed it and then he slanders us - wicked grown up. So in closing, get a life, get a real job and grow up and don't blame people that have nothing to do with you being so broke you cannot afford a nice RV like the rest of us. And last time I checked you were never our landlord so stick to what you know before you walk yourslef into a lawsuit gomer. You are a liar Matt, next time fix your own crap - we are far to busy with customers that have money to pay with and don't drive trash.
