We used Perry Cut Rate Moving to move a 4 bedroom house about 3.5 miles. They bid $80 per hour and estimated 4 hours. Two guys and rented UHaul arrived on time.
One of the movers had admittedly been up all night and had no energy for the move. He complained throughout the move indicating that he would rather be home with his daughter. Eventually, the movers asked me if I could drive 15 miles across town to pick up two friends who could assist with the move. I did this and bought them breakfast and lunch.
The two movers were ill prepared for the move. They brought one very small Dolly and two small moving pads to move an entire 4 bedroom house. They underestimated the bid by a lot. The move took twice the number of estimated hours. Perry works only in cash, but indicated he is incorporated, bonded and insured.
During the move, they dropped and broke my solid wood dresser and the glass top of an entertainment center. I asked them to pay only $100 for the damage to the solid wood dresser and sent them several photos of the damage. The damage was substantially more than $100. However, the two movers begged me not to ask for more, indicating that the money would be deducted from their paychecks.
Owner, Perry Allen, agreed to pay me $100 six weeks ago. He indicated that the amount was insufficient to submit to insurance. Six weeks agao, the two movers both called me and told me that Perry has withheld the money from their checks and that he should send it to me within a day. One of the movers was so distraut that he quit his position.
I have contacted Perry at least 15 times in the past six weeks. Each time, he verbally promised to pay the $100. He told me the check was in the mail. Then he told me the check was returned, but that his wife would deliver the money. He has yet to deliver.
I encourage you not to do buisiness with Perry Cut Rate Moving.
