In fall of 2012 I hired Peter V McGlynn of JMP Pavers to redo walkways in front of my house, build two retaining walls for planting beds and erect two piers to support columns. The work was supposed to be completed in a span of two weeks as verbally agreed upon. I paid Peter $3,500 in cash up front, which represented 1/2 of the job's total. The other half was paid near the end of the job (definitely not at completion, which never happened).

JMP's workers began the demolition process and soon after my wife alerted me to the fact that they were taking wheel barrows full of demo debris and we're bumping them in the woods adjacent to my property. I immediately notified Peter and told him to stop it and clean up the dumped debris. He apologized and promised to have the debris cleaned up. Soon after I discovered that the workers failed to dig proper 36" footings for my piers. I had to watch over them to make sure that the location and depth was according to plans.

The pavers used for walkways were installed over my existing sprinkler heads, the retaining wall was never finished, the soldier course border was never cemented in as specifically requested by me. My front yard (a previously immaculate lawn) was grated using Quareeied Aggregate (stone dust base) which ruined my lawn and soil. I had to remove the stone using rake and by hand for months.

The walkway to asphalt driveway transition was botched with uneven Cold Patch asphalt fill that came up during winter, causing a mess and further undermining the stable integrity of my driveway. After a few months I've noticed that the joints between pavers were filled with dirt and gravel dust, rather than a paver block compound that prevents from movement and controls weed growth. They also installed drainage pipes that on the property that collect and drain no water.

After numerous attempts to get Peter's crew back to my house to complete the job, during which he gave me excuses of his trucks being broken down, to promises of being at my house on such a day at 7AM to finally just sending a crew with a load of retaining wall block and dumping it in my front yard, I assume in order for me to have material I could use to finish the job myself. Since that time, I was unable to reach Pete. Unfortunately, I've paid him the second half of the total.

During the job JMP damaged the following: sprinkler system, driveway, lawn, illegally dumped construction debris, installed glue stained retaining wall caps.
