I bought a Philips home theater system in early September. I managed to drop my remote control into a glass of pop- this is my fault and only provides background information. I ordered a replacement remote from Philips for $30.00. Philips ordered the double ordered the remote control and sent me two separate shipments and charged my credit card twice. They refuse to take back the second remote or to refund my credit card. I have called Philips on numberous occasions, they tell me that they are "processing my claim" however they never provide any actual information and when I ask to be transferred to a supervisor they hang up on me. After a few rounds of outright refusal they managed to give me a fax number to send my receipt, invoice, and bank statement to. This number was not a fax number, it was a phone number for some church! They refused to give me a valid fax number until I called them many more times. This is outright consumer fraud and I would encourage anyone looking to buy home electronics to be advised that Philips would not be a good company to work with. The product works well as far as that goes, but this kind of fraud must be stopped.
