I too was tossed off from Larry H. Parker to Pierce & Pierce like some others on here.  It was a mistake to sign the paperwork allowing them to take my case.  I should have forced Larry H Parker to do their job.  Instead I got stuck with a second-rate attorney who failed to do their homework.  Completely dropped the ball on my case.  I have over $45,000 in damages related to lost time at work, lost career track, depression, etc..  but the attorney failed to pursue the biggest part of my case which was the secondary damages to my schooling and career even though they knew this was very important to me.   Instead, I got a lousy settlement for under $2000 because the senior lawyer bullied me into believing that if I didn't settle, I would stand to lose money to the other side if I didn't do better in court than their terrible offer.  Only a bad attorney would be so negative, forgetful, pessimistic.  They clearly didn't want to go to bat for me, and my loss, instead, they took the easy, sure money (for them).  It was clear that if I didn't go along with it, either they wouldn't do a very good job representing me in court because of their bad attitude or they felt themselves incompetent to take my case to court, because they failed to followup on the most important parts of my case where the real costly damages were.  After Larry dumped me off to them, they would go 6 months at a whack with no word to me about my case.  They clearly just road the legal timeline for all it was worth to do the most minimalistic investigation (aka none where it mattered), then last minute when I think everything is fine based on previous chats and was preparing to go to court, they suddenly change tune like a bi-polar express and suddenly inform me that I will likely owe the defense money to pay for their expert witness because I'm not likely to win and it isn't worth the risk, juries aren't sympathetic anymore after the housing crisis with plaintiff's pain and suffering, yaddah yaddah yaddah, take the settlement like good medicine and be happy with your paltry 1/20th of what you should have gotten because we really don't want to take this case to court.  At least by settling, you can control the outcome they tell me.  WHAT?  What kind of twisted spin-logic is that?  I wasn't in control when the #@!* rear-ended my car at a dead stop..  I wasn't in control when medical-problems caused enough attendance interference I failed a necessary course at school solely because I was late one too many times (although my work was A quality)... I wasn't in control when the failure to get that last required credit to graduate college caused financial aid to retaliate on me and drop my full-time student status, drop my award amounts below a level necessary to cover another semester to make it up, lose my on-campus job because of the loss of student status, etc. etc. etc.  and I certainly wasn't in control when Larry H Parker dumped me and subsequently when Pierce and Pierce waited to the last week before trail to bully me into settling out of court with an insulting award that doesn't begin to address what this accident cost me.  I think perhaps they realized they goofed and completely forgot to investigate and gather remaining evidence needed to show the real financial damage I suffered and their fix was to bully me into settling with a tale of doom and gloom if I didn't.  Either that or they just wanted to close out as many cases as they could at the close of the year to make their books more profitable.  I've never met such Jeckle-and-Hyde attorneys in my life.  They even tried to say it was my fault for not getting a necessary diagnostic imaging test to show protracted medical issues.  That wasn't even relevant to the butter-fly effect of losses that I suffered long before my pain and suffering went past they happy "18 month" standard they were so insistent my suffering had to be contained to.  18 months hadn't even occurred yet and I already lost it all.  They performed miserably as an attorney.  They failed to keep me informed.  They don't return calls half the time.  They even took over 3 months to send me the settlement after it was promised for reasons that weren't disclosed to me until I called and pestered and even then I wasn't satisfied that they were doing anything to resolve what they claimed was the reason for holding the money, resulting in forcing me to seek legal advice from the bar and having to send Pierce and Pierce registered mail intimating that I was approaching the bar about them before they finally sent me what was promised.  Insult added to injury.  What a ridiculous firm..
