Pine Meadows Apartments discriminatory practices, false advertising RIPOFF Jacksonville Florida
Sadly these people use discriminatory practices and false advertising. This is a goverment funded apartment for moderate income families. First they told me I had the apartment and I would have my first months rent free because that was the special. After 3 weeks of having to call them, because they never made the time to call me back to know the status, they called me back and said that I was denied due to my credit history. Yes Mrs. Holmes you have excellent rental history but your credit doesnt allow you to get the apartment...come and pick up your deposit.
The next day a representative called me and said O.K. for a higher deposit we will put you in an apartment with your first months free rent. Then the next person called the next day and said oh no we cant give you the first months free rent. You have to pay an 830 security deposit and the first months rent of 870. Now they were telling me that the corporate office Landmark Management Group is who made this decision. Just let me say that I am an african american women, single with 3children and a wonderful job at Bank Of America. These women were trying to rent out to mostly hispanic and caucasion americans.
I know that I am the only one who had that stipulation...I could just feel that I was being discriminated against. I know that I am not the only person living in Pine Meadows with not so good credit that got the apartment for the regular deposit amount and the first months free rent. I am sure that a single mother with three children shouldnt be expected to come up with 1600 to move into subsidized housing. Please help.
