Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In 2008 and 2006, respectively, Precision Air & Heating Inc and Pipetech Plumbing & Rooter LLC (both are really the same company) were hired to (1) replace the a/c unit and all ductwork and (2) re-route the water lines through the attic, plus install a new water heater and an on-demand water heating booster unit on our home. They were convincing in their argument for "extended warranties" and "preventive maintenance agreements" (PMA) on everything; foolishly, they were paid by us for that.  They did faithfully come out each year to "inspect" everything, generally finding the need for additional work (not covered by warranty, but which might void the warranty), ranging in cost from $500 to several thousand dollars. Everything always checked out "ok". Last year, the a/c unit began to falter and, despite the extended warranty and PMA, I had become increasingly uneasy with Precision and Pipetech, so called in another company (one that I had used previously on another house) and learned that the a/c unit installed by Precision had been installed incorrectly - it was offset and a piece of ductwork (if you could call it that) had been fabricated to try and channel the cool air down into the newly installed ductwork, instead of setting the a/c where it should have been placed and running the new ductwork up to meet it. (Cart before horse situation, I believe?) Recently, a contractor was in our attic for an unrelated purpose, and informed us that (1) the ductwork is NOT sealed or connected properly (cold air blows freely through the attic) and (2) the water lines in the attic were not wrapped (which explains why we get so darned much hot water through the cold water tap each summer, and vice versa in the winter). In addition, despite the yearly "inspections", it turns out that the on-demand water heating system has had a faulty valve for years. I replaced it myself and - VOILA! - it now works as it should.

When Precision and Pipetech called last year to schedule the yearly inspections, and we told them we were no longer interested in doing business with them, they became irate and screamed at me over the phone. They continued to call regularly, insisting that they were "allowed" to do an inspection because of the PMA. I explained that the a/c had already been replaced by another company, so the PMA on that item was no longer valid, and we didn't care to have them inspect the pipes any more (and, by the way, the water pressure from the hose bib in the front yard is fine and doesn't need the pressure reducing valve that Pipetech has been pressing us to have installed since 2011). Yes, we knew we were kissing goodbye thousands of dollars already spent, but figured we would also save thousands in the long run by having actual quality work completed by a competent company.  I strongly urge people not to use these companies. They don't do proper installations, find each year during their inspections that everything is ok, but also find the need for additional work to be done.

Hello Kathie.  I've finished reading your review of Pipetech Plumbing and Rooter in which you mention your dissatisfaction of service provided in 2006 and 2008.  Several elements of your complaint leave me to question the rationality of the grievance.

I must be candid and let you know that I find it hard to understand why you would use a public media site to file a complaint siting issues with the service provided, at your estimation, 6-8 years ago.  During this time span one could reasonably assume that you made phone calls to the Company, spoke with or attempted to speak with a Manager, initiated some tye of assertive action to resolve your concern. Additionally, any date of service, Technician name, invoice number, any item of detail that you could provide would be helpful.  If you have made other attempts, or provided this type of information, please let me know so that I can look into the details regarding those interactions and find out why we weren't able to resolve the issue. We can't find you anywhere in our system!

Our Business Center Associates never "scream" at anyone regardless of the situation.  In this case, certainly not because a consumer has chosen to exercise their option of refusing a service or looking for resolution with another Company.  I strongly believe that this statement is at best a version of a situation that may have been much less intense than you describe.

You also toggle back and forth mentioning two completly separate companies in your complaint.  Pipetech Plumbing and Rooter is not the same Company as Precision Air & Heating, Inc..  In fact, Pipetech Plumbing and Rooter has done no active business since 2011.

In closing, as a licensed, bonded and insured business, we put every effort forward to provide exceptional customer service to each and every Customer.  It is every consumers right to voice their opinion and we are thankful for the opportunity to offer a rebuttal.

I have spoke to the Owner, Erik Bryan, and he is aware of your concern.  Both Erik and I ask that you please reach out to me so that we can resolve this situation. I can be reached via phone at our Chandler location during regular business hours.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Sandra

Did I forget to mention that when the redid the duct work, they left ALL of the old duct work up in the attic? Talk about a lazy shoddy job!
