My significant other and I just boarded our BELL Trans airport shuttle from McCarren Airport to our resort when we were presented with an extra passenger at the last minute who represented Planet Hollywood and Westgate hotels.

She claimed that by attending a 90 minute tour of the unfinished Planet Hollywood (set to be completed 12/10) that we would receive $400 in gifts and free premium seat tickets of our choice (Blue Man Group, Phantom of the Opera, etc.) along with having a limousine ride to and from the presentation area.

The tickets required that you pay the city enforced 'entertainment tax' which varies based on ticket price. The price for Blue Man Group was $60.00 and the tickets would be presented to you after the presentation, however one stipulation for attending the presentation was that you and your other must show proof of being a 'couple' such as having the same address on your license or some other means.

While my other and I live in the same residence we were not able to show proof (as was the case of another couple behind us). The presenter suggested we go online and perhaps fraudulently change the mailing address for our bank statements to match, then that would be satisfactory. This statement would be provided upon arriving the next day, assuming you make the deposit now.

We have a supermarket discount card linked to the same account showing the same member number which was said to be acceptable by the presenter for our seat and deposit. All attendees were to be notified later in the day to confirm our reservation.

We arrived at the hotel and the presenter hurriedly finished our bill of sale which was then folded up multiple times and handed off to us as we exited the shuttle. Note that the presenter never showed or announced any terms to the agreement in regards to NON-REFUNDABLE deposits. I eventually noticed this when I unfolded the paper in the hotel lobby which is very suspicious and underhanded.

After arriving at the hotel we were to be notified later in the day to confirm our information. When we were contacted we were told our linked account was not sufficient (after our deposit) and that if we wanted to cancel then we would not be charged, we agreed to cancel.

The next day we are called from our limo driver who is about to come pick us up from their office (after we already canceled) in which we asked him to put us on the phone with the representative at westgate - which he did. The representative asked us who our presenter was and that it is now her responsibility to cancel for us and for us to provide her name (which we did) and the representative would get in contact with her to complete the cancellation.

2 days later the $60.00 debt posts to my account anyway and the number which called us in regards to the confirmation refuses to answer making me assume that is their policy.

Its pretty sad that BELL Trans allows these people to board their buses without passes which means they have some sort of agreement between the two companies. Also based on other reports, had I attended the presentation it is really a bait and switch scheme for non-PH properties.

From this experience I will never stay in a Westgate hotel and will actively advise others not to.
