Platinum Resorts was presented to us at the time of purchase of a "Fractual Ownership" at

"Puerto Bahia Villas & Spa" in La Cruz, Nayarit Mexico.

Platinum said that they had a Buyer for our timeshare, Plus, they were a company that rented out

our extra weeks that we got from "Puerto Bahia Villas & Spa".

" Puerto Bahia Villas & Spa" was a New Construction Resort, and we were on the ground level.

We traveled back to Puerto Vallarta to check on the progress, and were satified with the progress.

However, "Platinum Resorts" was taking quite a while to give us money for the Timeshare they "Sold" and the money from the weeks that they had rented. They came saying that things were done differently with the Mexican Government, and kept changing the dates for the money.

In April 2013, we came back to see how things were progressing at "Puerto Bahia Villas & Spa".

(We had been told that we would be receiving our money any day.)

When we were asked if we would like to purchase an additional property, that had been given back, (Only owners had this privledge),

we thought about it. We ask them to verifiy that indeed our other weeks had been rented and out of their system, so we could determine if we wanted to invest any more money.

The saleman, Hugh Gagen, said that he had checked, and yes, they were out of their system.

With that being said, and this looking like it could be a great investment for us, we went ahead and purchased the additional "Fractual Ownership Property".

However, this time "Puerto Bahia Villas & Spa" wanted to let us know, that they are a separate company than Platinum Resorts. They also wanted us to sign a form that stated that we were NOT counting on the money from this investment to pay what we owed.

Sure enough, by the time we got home, there was one excuse after another as to why we were not going to get the money yet.

To this date, we have not received any money, they quit responding to emails, and they do not answer the phone.

Also, "Puerto Bahia Villas & Spa", now says, they do know WHO "Platinum Resort Services" are.

However, we have all the paperwork from them, plus all the emails.

  • it’s sold as "Real State" but in fact is a timeshare contract.
  • Sales people guarantee that if the resort is not completly build in 2 years the client will receive all monies paid but it is not stated anywhere in the contract.
  • the sales people offer to "trade-in" timeshares in no more than 90 days but at the end of that timeframe, client is stuck with the old and Puerto Bahia timeshare.

Platinum Services is now Timely Travel

Platinum Servies has been replaced with Timely Travel with a bogus address in Sioux Falls So Dakota. It appears that they change often to avoid US regulatios against deceptive trade practices. Puerto Bahia claims no responsibility for these illegal marketing companies but the resort name is present in the marketing contract.

Fractional ownership is not better than Timeshare in Mexico, it is worse no matter what the PB sales staff says. Stay Away.

We are happy to report that we have resolved our issues with Puerto Bahia Villa's & Spa, and they exceeded our expections.

We made a trip down to the Resort, and brought all of our paperwork. We waited to speak to George, and he listened to our concerns, and then he did some research. After he realized all that had transpired, George found the errors and corrected them on the spot. We left there very relieved and uplifted. Our Saleman Hugh Gagen , has been in contact with us, and has been very willing to do anything that needs to be done so that we are happy with our decision. We look forward to spending alot of time at this Beautiful Resort.

However, as far as "Platium Resorts" it is NOT a company that is in Business. They are dismantled, and were doing illegal business practices.

Thank you,

Platinum Resort Services Scam

Platinum Resort Services is a timeshare rental and resale company. They claim to have over 50 years of experience in the timeshare industry and to have a supreme knowledge of global markets and vacation ownership resorts. Even when they assure to have many years of experience, their website was registered on March, 2011.

The company has a B- BBB rating; however, there is an alert on the business. Based on the BBB’s investigations, there are reasons to believe that Platinum Resort Services operates from an offshore location. According to their website, their offices are located at Minneapolis, Minnesota. They offer resale and rental services. As not everyone is interested in buying a timeshare, the majority of their clients are impulsive buyers and timeshare owners who are satisfied with their membership.

Platinum Resort Services Scam

Platinum Resort Services has an admittedly false address in MN. The MN Chamber of Commerce says this "company" is not licensed in MN. We have a "contract" saying they're to purchase our timeshare NLT 30 Nov 2012 and no money's been received. I've only been allowed to speak to the receptionist and the salesman. Their customer service is email only. I believe they are a couple with an email address and just collecting broker fees. We got scammed into buying one timeshare with the promise of purchase of the other timeshare and guaranteed rental income. We got screwed
