I bought a slightly used Kia from Plaza Kia of Thornhill. They told me that they had a second key for the vehicle. I decided to buy the vehicle after taking it for a test drive.

On the sales contract they tried not to put this on the contract. When I picked my vehicle up a couple days later they said they did not give me the second set until I asked for them at that point the sales man went and got his manager, he could not tell me that they had lost the key himself. The sales manager told me that they would get me a new key and call me as soon as it came in.

That was in AUGUST.

I gave them a couple weeks to order it and get it in. They had all the vehicle information from the sale (ie the VIN).

So the beginning of September I started to call. I first called the salesman that I dealt with and he told me he would never do that and KIA could never agree to anything like that. I told him that I had the sales deal in my hand with his signature and the managers signature beside the agreement. I gave him my VIN so he could order the key for me he told me that in a couple days he would call back and I could come in and get it programmed.

A week went by and I still had not heard anything from them. I called again, and was pretty much told the same thing they would never do that and he would order one in. I told him this was the second time with the same story. He promised he would get it done.

I went away on business for a couple weeks (they had my cell number and I told them to call as soon as they had the key in). When I got back I called again and the salesman promised he would get the job done. I was fed up by now I knew I couldn't take his promise. However I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him another week.

Still nothing, so I called the sales manager to try to get some help with the situation. He told me the same sort of thing that they would never do that and he would get the job done.

I gave him some time called again. This time he promised to call me back that night and let me know when he could get me my key. I gave him a couple days. Still no call.

I called again and this time I just called service to get them to order it and they told me they couldn't just charge their sales department for the second key. But the guy suggested talking to the manager's boss. So I did that and he never answered his phone, I finally got in touch with him a couple days later (while doing that calling the sales man and his manager and getting various promises that would never be completed)

When I finally got in touch with the sales manager he told me he had to check if they had a key for me. So I gave him my VIN and phone numbers, and he promised he would get back to me later that day. I told him that I had heard that enough and wanted him to stay on the phone while he checked he said he couldn't do that and had to talk to parts. So I gave in and said okay.

A couple days later he still hadn't called so I called back and he said he needed my VIN and info again. He told me he would call back soon. I gave him a couple hours and called back he said to come in on Monday and they would cut the key and I would have it in a half hour.

So today (Monday almost 3 months after buying my vehicle) I went in hopeful for getting my key, and well they ordered it. IT TOOK 3 MONTHS FOR THEM TO ORDER THE KEY! They said that they couldn't order it because of security reasons until I came in. Why couldn't they have ordered the key when I bought the vehicle? So now I have to drive back there in a couple days for them to programme the key. I don't live down the street I live over an hour away from Plaza Kia of Thornhill. It isn't like I can be spending all my time tracking these guys down, going to Thornhill. They keep on giving vague dates I'm fed up with how they treat customers. After I get my key I will not go back to Plaza Kia of Thornhill. If in a couple days I have not heard back from them I will be taking them to court.
