I have been a customer of PNC for seven years. I have never had a banking issue with them. I do check my balance, on line, daily. I have deposited, out of state checks, that take 2 to 3 business days to post. Local checks are usually posted in 24 hours, sometimes 48 hours. My experience with the courtesy funds on out of state checks have been only for $100.00. Not the full amount. It actually was confusing the first couple of times, until I talked to them to find out why there were differences between the ledger and actual availabilities were. I did not need the money to cover checks. It just puzzled me why two different totals. For PNC to put $100.00 into your account for a check that might not clear is pretty good customer service in my view. If the customer were to draw out that $100.00 at a ATM and the check does not clear, PNC would be out the money. I don't know what time of day, you deposited the check. Lets say it was late in the day. If that happened, it is possible that the check may not have posted to your account until midnight on the 11th. With local checks, I always go to the bank they are drawn on to have them cashed. Better that, than having to pay a fee to my bank for having deposited a bad check. You are also going on the information of a 4th part. That person told you that PNC had been given the funds from her bank. If that is true, it shouldn't be too difficult for her to produce a copy of that transfer from her bank, along with PNC showing the actual time it was received. Is it possible, that her bank could show the electronic transfer at one time and PNC to show the post at another time? Again, a bank may not actually post, until the end of the day. I suppose that since you didn't get the reprieve from Ms. McGreevy, you feel your justified with the name calling. You sure showed her. I would think that all she did was state to you the rules. Your post shows that you have a good grasp of the English Language. Now all you need to do to have a perfect life is too work on you debits and credits. I need help there also. I have never maintained a balance sheet for my checking account for the last 35 years. I usually know what the balance is, within 50 dollars or so. Even not running a daily balance sheet, I have never had a NSF check. Good luck to you.
