When we opened our delivered PODS we found mildew. I called immediately while my husband unloaded the container. While I was on the telephone, my husband reported that there was a gash in the roof of the PODS. We speculated that water had leaked into our unit and asked for a PODS rep to come to the house.

The PODS rep who came out was (is) Brian Burks, the Gen Mgr of the SF Bay Area franchise. He took photos and examined the roof and confirmed our suspicions: water leaked into the PODS through the gash in the roof.

After a few wasted phone calls using PODS toll free number, we finally touched base with Herb Leinberger of the Risk Management Department.

We provided everything Mr. Leinberger requested, inc. just this past week, some add'l photos. Our claim was not huge. It included a couple of signed and numbered artworks, inc. one by Guy Buffet, a damaged cherrywood queen headboard and a ruined area rug. We decided not to nickel & dime our claim with mildewed linens, the art work frames (we can refinish these) etc.

Just today, Mr. Leinberger reached my husband and offered us a little less than $800 on our almost $2400 claim -- a third of the worth.

We are taking PODS to small claims court and will keep this site posted.

March 17, 2009 Via Internet www.ripoffreport.com RE: Bonnie T (100728379) Complaint #: 399178 Mrs. T states that she submitted a content damage claim to PODS Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of $2,400.00, however, was offered less than $800.00 to resolve. On 07/18/08, Mrs. T provided a loss summary statement totaling $3,910.00 for contents that she claimed sustained damage due to water intrusion. Mrs. T advised us that she was unable to submit receipts except the estimate for her Guy Buffet, Caf La Provence, therefore, the items were assessed at the current value. After thorough review of the account and information provided by Mrs. T, PODS, Inc. determined the amount of $840.00 to be a fair and reasonable reimbursement. The largest value discrepancy in the claim is the Guy Buffet, Caf La Provence lithograph which Mrs. T claimed to be valued at $2,000.00. However, Mrs. Tprovided a document which was initially provided to her by Greg Lejnieks at Lahaina Galleries, confirming the replacement value for the aforementioned lithograph was $400.00, which conflicted with Mrs. T's claimed value of $2,000.00 initially submitted. We also suggest that Mrs. T refer to Section 4 of the PODS, Inc. rental agreement accepted online on 6/20/08. PODS Enterprises Inc. prides itself of its quality customer service and I regret that Mrs. Tognetti feels she experienced anything less and please be aware that our representatives have been mentored correctly. We sincerely apologize for any instance where a customer is not completely satisfied with a PODS experience. When a customer notifies our company of a less than satisfactory experience, we endeavor to review the processes that gave rise to the customer feedback and take appropriate measures to address their comments. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at (727) 538-6332 with any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Arlene Vogt Incident Resolution Administrator
