The second week in October/07 my aunt needed to buy a car. She went to POTAMKIN in Harlem. The salesman (he is not the one to blame) was very nice and courteous with her. When they start to talk about down payment, she said to the salesman "I have $1,000.00 for down payment" and she was told "Let me talk to my General Manager (Nick)". This Nick person (we don't know his full or real name) start talking with my aunt about $6,000.00 down payment. My aunts answer "I don't have that much money". Nick asks her "How long do you need to get that money? My aunt answer was "probably 2(two) years". The general manager told her "Just give me one check and I will hold it for you as long as you need but you take your new car today". She was stupid when Nick came back and told her "I need you to get me 2(two) checks for $3,000.00 each because was a problem to hold only one. The big problem for my aunt was two weeks after when the ban call her to pay the bank fee $50.00 per check and the 5% for the amount in the two checks they try to cash and she didn't have the money to cover for it. She is going to pay $250.00 only in fees and now is a collection company calling her to pay the $6,000.00 plus expenses. Please be careful if you have to go to POTAMKIN MITSUBHI and have to deal with "NICK". He is the worst of the worst. My aunt doesn't know what to do. She was told by Nick "Unfortunately we make a mistake and is nothing they can do and the car is yours". The last one was the best when Nick said "don't worry just call the collection company and make payment arrangements to pay back the $6,000.00 in small monthly payments". Can anyone imagine that?????? Jj jr bronx, New York
