Pedicto or Predicto Mobile charged my T-Mobile account a total of $240 over six months for "cell-phone"/social website game/contest.

I gave my cell phone number to Predicto or a company acting under another name while browsing thorugh my Facebook webpage.

I have since cancelled my Facebook account.

I recieved monthly text messages to my T-Mobile cell phone account.

After reviewing my T-Mobile statements I noticed that Predicto had charged $20-$40 a month, over a six month period, for these "services."

T-Mobile refunded $60 worth of the charges.

I called Predicto and cancelled my account with them.

T-Mobile called Predicto a "scam" and has taken measures to ban such "companies" from authorizing charges.  I talked to a number of T-Mobile representatives and they all had incurred similar charges as a result of this or other scams featured on Facebook.com or Myspace.com

I plan on reviewing my account with T-Mobile to see if I can have all charges from Predicto refunded.

We are sorry to hear about your experience -  and hoped to clarify a couple of points. We at Predicto charge $9.99 for a Premium account, which requires an industry best practice double opt-in to prevent inadvertent or fraudulent sign-ups.

To enroll in our service, a prospective member must first submit their cell phone number on the PredictoMobile sign-up page which clearly explains our terms and conditions, including the monthly price of the service and billing (never more than $9.99 a month) to the cell phone. We then send a text message to their cell phone which again discloses the essential membership terms.

The customer then must correctly enter the PIN on our website or reply with a confirmation SMS message from the cell phone to activate the account. The double opt-in process and clear disclosures ensures a high level of consumer protection and satisfaction. Telephone providers agree that this is a secure means of starting an account, and thus allow Predicto Mobile to bill through them.

If a member wants to cancel the service, they can simply text stop to 654654 or call Customer Service or go to http://predicto.com/support. We hope this helps address your concerns.
