When my son went to Honda Performance in Wesley Chapel Fl, he was interested in a particular motorcyle.  A sales person instructed him to go to Grow Financial for financing and handed him a MSRP bill of sale for a price with everything listed as inclusive.  My son went and got approved for financing, and when he went to sign the papers the finance manager over talked an excited 19 year old, and when we got home the motorcycle papers showed a total cost of over $14,000 when it should of been around $12,000 even though their web site advertises this bike for $10,999.  The bank had to call my son and have him go back in to the bank so he can be approved for that much more.  It was blatent take advantage of a 19 year old and a woman.  My husband is going to go in to the motorcycle shop and see what he can do, I doubt since my son signed these papers will anything be done.

I think you're right.   Your son is legally an adult and is getting an expensive lesson about what it means when you sign a contract.   Very simply, when you sign a contract agreeing to pay over $14,000 for a motorcycle, that's what you're agreeing to pay.  If you do not agree with the price, you don't sign.

If the lesson sticks, it will save him from making much bigger mistakes in the future.   All car and motorcycle dealers employ a "finance manager" whose job it is to add as much as he can get away with to the contract.
