Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Contacted them to move my apartment from Indiana to Iowa. Gave me a quote of $975, which included a month's free storage. Gave them detailed information on what was to be moved. They came (late) on the day promised and said the price would be at least double that (although the quote was supposedly "guaranteed"), and sent only one guy to pack up stuff - and who was delayed further because he locked himself out of his truck. Came the next day and we had to haggle on getting the price to a level I could afford, and paid by check before he would start (which is fair enough). Packing included fragile items like the glass lampshades on two floor lamps. Finally got as much as I could afford loaded on the truck (and a lot more stuff I had to have thrown away because I had to be at my new job ASAP).

They were almost impossible to contact after they picked up my stuff. I wrote e-Mails, left messages, and they didn't get back to me. I informed them of my move date (just under a month after the pickup date) and new location, and that I wanted to get delivery about a week after I moved in. Never heard back from them, or their dispatchers. Kept trying to contact. Finally spoke to a dispatcher in early July (heavy accent, hard to understand him), left him PLENTY of contact information, and he never called back. AGAIN! Called their main number (AGAIN) and got a message machine for a different dispatcher. Then on 07/13/10, I get a call from someone with a VERY heavy foreign accent, telling me he was my driver. Told him I didn't need a driver, nor had I ordered a car. Finally got the idea that he was the MOVING VAN driver, and that he was on his way (with no warning ahead of time) and would get there between 0600 and 0800 the next morning (this was late afternoon). Had to call several times and they finally showed up at 0830 in the wrong place. I was running late for my meeting so I had to wave them into my apartment complex. Two drivers, one who was Russian or Slavic (from what I could get from his accent) and the other who was speaking with either a very heavy Spanish or Portugese accent. I told them I had to get to work, they needed to unpack x here, unpack x there, and to please lock up after I left. A few hours later, no word from them so I called the cell number they provided and they said yes, they had finished my job hours ago and everything was fine. Asked them if they locked up and they said yes. Got home, and the door was unlocked. NO BOXES were unpacked. NONE. None were marked on the outside to say where they belonged. Furniture was still wrapped in the black plastic cling-wrap and wasn't put together. Found the glass lampshades for the two floor lamps, one was shattered (not broken, SHATTERED) in the box. When I left for work, there were several workers nearby installing new roof guttering for the apartment. I asked them to "keep an eye" on those movers. Mentioned to them that if I could, I'd call ICE on these two movers because I was not sure if they were actually "legal" to work here in the States. Their communication skills were almost non-existent, and they basically had me over a barrel when it came to getting my stuff delivered. This firm is slipshod, and a major ripoff. Their staff SUCKS, their communication SUCKS, their delivery SUCKS, their estimate SUCKS and their customer service ISN'T. Do NOT use this company unless you're desperate, and even then be prepared to be ripped off.
