Fisrt of all they did reach an agreement with us for $500. to settle this disagreement and to not have any further dealings with them, and yes we are renting from an agent at the agents offer and he set the price, not us. My husband has been fully aware and is aware of my writing this rebuttal and the first complaint as he felt as I did ..ripped off. We were not informed of any contact of the Tampa office and apparently until WE complained did he come up with that anwser, we were not told we had to find our own land and made several calls about land/home packages and they state they do give you land locations or a realtor to work with. To set the facts straight we did purchase a BRAND New Home with a reputable company and they even found us the land I did not find it on my own. The new home and land is in the Tampa area were we told Prestige we wanted to be. As far as my budget goes that is none of the agents business and our new land/home package is more expensive then what Prestige offered. I truly hope this is the end of our dealings and if you are going to put something in writing especially on-line to have the facts not your opinions. We accepted there offer and will have nothing to do with Prestige now or in the future.

Barb in Brooksville, Fl. has distorted the facts to suit her position. Her husband claims he is not aware of Barb's internet campaign and doesn't approve. He feels he has been treated fairly. Yes, Barb and her husband placed a $1,000 down payment with our company to purchase a new home. Yes, our salesperson said he would try to help them find land by refering them to land- developers and real estate people he knew. Our company is not involved in real estate, nor is the salesperson. Ultimately, it is the customers responsibility to find property where they want to live (Tampa). Our company successfully found a lender to approve their loan. The loan was limited to a maximum amount of dollars that fit into Barb's budget. With the price of the new home subtracted, this left Barb with a maximum amount to spend on land. The salesperson put the word out to his contacts to find land in that price range. His contacts did not find land that was satisfactory to Barb. Barb believes that everyone the salesperson refered her to was going to kick back to the sales person. This is not the case. Barb went out looking for land on her own, as she should have. She found land and an older preowned home from a competitor and bought it. It is interesting to note that the LAND IS NOT IN TAMPA. NOW SHE HAS TWO CONTRACTS TO PURCHASE. Barb called our company (me) and asked that we not sue her for breach of contract, which is stated in the purchase agreement. This is when the discussion came up about our other sales center in Tampa. My statement to her (not having all the facts) was, "I'm surprised that the salesperson didn't contact our Tampa location for information on land because the manager also owns a real estate company". I told Barb that we would not sue her for breach of contract and would not refund her down payment. However, we would GIVE HER CREDIT OF $1,000 if she decides to purchase a home from our company within the next 12 months. Further research indicated that the salesperson did ask the Tampa manager for help with land, but was told the land with the new home was over the customer's budget. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, Barb is still living in the salesperson's rental home (since October), in the height of tourist season, for a mere $350.00 per month while they wait for their other purchase to go through! In less than two months they saved their downpayment, and then some. WHO IS RIPPING-OFF WHO? Our company has been in business for over 35 years. We are not in the business of keeping down payments, we are in the business of selling and building new homes. THE CUSTOMER IS CRYING FOUL WHEN THEY CLEARLY BREACHED OUR CONTRACT.
