Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I hired the company to move me. While the employees were very diligent and worked hard, my issue is with the "front office people". When packing my belongings on the truck I witnessed, I literally watched, one employee drop my paper shredder outside the truck. As we were paying by the hour, I went over and inspected the shredder and only saw the casing was cracked. assuming it was more durable and could take the drop I didn't immediately make any issue of it. Hours later after the move, my wife and I standing in our new apartment surrounded by about 100 boxes, the employees, who emphasized they still had another job to get to that night and were rushing to it (i even bought them lunch and they were so rushed they didn't eat and and the forgot to take it as they went out the door), they ran my credit card and had me sign the invoice. I left on a business trip the next day. Later when I returned home, I tried to use the shredder (it was still in the location it was left by the movers) it did not work. I contacted the movers and informed then of these facts (again, I saw it being dropped). Apparently without talking to the employees, the "management" basically called me a liar and said I signed something saying everything was received OK (how can they expect someone to unpack approximately 100 boxes and test everything in 5 minutes as their staff run out the door?). Again, I witnessed the damage, and the business is taking the position of: "too bad -- although you didnt know it [NOTE read the fine print], you had ONLY the time the employees were standing there to inspect and test EVERYTHING they moved, the contents of a 300 sq. foot house, or you relase all claims -- despite the fact that I witnessed the damage (although admittedly did not realize how severe it was. However, the fact that legally you can never disclaim negligence, which dropped and breaking something constitues, would override).

Also, aside from that more egrigious issue, IF you still decide to use them (at your own risk), pack as much as you can, particularly mirrors and pcitures on your own! They charged $15 for each cardboard cuff on teh cormer of a mirror. That is $60 for 4 pieces of cardboard on a single item. then you pay for bubble wrap AND tape. They may seem cheap "by the hour" but each 5 minute tape job of each mirror or picture adds another approximate $70 to your bill.
