All shipping and/or moving companies work like this. I have never, EVER heard of a single one that doesn't work *exactly* like that. First they jerk you around about how they won't be there on time. Then, when they do get there (at extra cost, since it's such a hassle for them), they're surprised that it's going to be a full move or some other such nonsense, and claim they aren't prepared for that, so it's going to cost more. They then fail to wrap/package things properly in spite of charging you extra specifically for that. And it always, always turns out that you're over the volume limit, and that some expensive items are missing, and you declined the insurance. Other companies have done even more despicable things. Just look around this web site for plenty of examples. Good luck with the lawsuit. I hope you can get recompense, and teach these guys a painful lesson. This stuff has got to stop.
