I tried Priceline to rent a car. After inputting my information and a bid, I waited and waited for a response. None was forthcoming so I clicked off the system and ended up getting the car through Travelocity. I just got my Visa bill and see that Priceline has charged me for this car rental!

I tried calling but naturally they do everything they can to avoid customer service inquiries -- they try to make it as hard as humanly possible to register a complaint -- and you can't get a human. So I emailed them and got a stock, standardized reply that would have been insulting if it wasn't so hilariously manufactured.

It looks like it was cut and pasted out of a manual or something. But they refused to refund my money. Some silliness about 'contracts with their partner agencies.' I emailed them back and told them that they obviously didn't understand me and that I was contacting my state Attorney General in the morning.

Their website is VERY deceptive, user unfriendly and designed to trip you up. It strikes me as bad faith dealings all the way. Come tomorrow morning I am launching into Major Stink mode. Don't EVER use Priceline! EVER! Travelocity did a great job with no hassles.
