I saw an ad online which offered 50 internet auction bids for $25.00. this offer included 100 bonus bids. It was strongly endorsed by an investigative reporter from channel 4 TV.  I followed the instructions and found the website. I gave them my information, read the terms which included no refund for unused bids. I thought I was purchasing 50 bids for $25.00.

I received an email confirming my bid account but it hads 300 bids for $149.75! I immediately tried to call the company, but the phone number given and shown on my bank account was an answering machine which gave no option to talk to a real person. The recording said to contact the company by way of email.

I emailed them and much to my surprise they responded very quickly. However they would not correct the error. After several emails, they denied such an offer existed and offered me a return of $49.75 plus 100 bids.

So I am out $75.00 more than what I intended to spend and I doubt weather I will use the bids I own.

priceshuffle.com is a penney auction site.  All bids are for $0.01 higher than the current bid. At $149.75 for 300 bids, this equates to $0.50 per bid. When the item you are interested in goes up by $1.00, priceshuffle.com has 'earned' $50.00 (100 times $0.50). The bidding keeps going until only one bidder remains. The time left on the bid keeps increasing with every bid made under 2 minutes remaining.

My bank will not charge back the withdrawal because I cannot produce proof of the ad offer.

This company is most definitely a rip off. Once they see your report they may offer you a refund.

However, it is very important that you carefully read an entire webpage and all related terms and conditions before you hand out your credit card information. If you look at this screencap of PriceShuffle's sign-up page, you'll see a field on the left hand side that shows a bid package for $149.75. I've added an arrow to make it easier to see.

That is actually harder to see than the old graphic they had up but it can still be seen if you read the whole page.

Best of luck to you. Hopefully you get a refund.

..before you submit account information to a website.

Your report is legit..but you state in the beginning and I quote.."It was strongly endorsed by an investigative reporter from channel 4 TV..."

Did you actually see a channel 4 news report investigation on TV?...or some video on the internet? It is not uncommon that some of these scammers are using videos that were made to look like real news reports or investigations...but are fakes.

If you scroll way way down to the bottom of the screen where you saw this news report, you will notice a disclaimer where they will state they have no affiliations whatsoever with any news agency. All part of the deception.

Hopefully, you will get a refund. They tend to give refunds when you report here. I imagine many are too embarrassed, or do not now who to report to, or become addicted to the gambling...but they do tend to respond here and offer full refunds.

If they continue to evade the issue, work with your bank to have the charges reversed. INSIST to your bank that you were a victim of internet fraud. Do an internet search "priceshuffle" followed by the terms "scam", "fraud", "ripoff", "complaints" etc..print it out and present it to your bank as evidence. Most likely in your search, you will find screen shots as well of the offers, and deceptions.

Best of luck.
