This time they are trying Benifit Mastercard first. They say they see you have been declined from some other card you applied for within the past six months and "picked up your app.

Since they "had" my app when they began asking for info in exchange for $279.00 for a 5,000.00 limit I told them if they had my app they should know that and did not bite.

Two days later I get a call from Prime One Financial, but this time, although same story, did not ask for any info on the first call. wanted 187.00 for a mastercard, unsecured with $1,000.00 limit. Told I would be called for verification.

When the verification call came it was "recorded", the only info they wanted was the name of my bank, city it was in and the account number, they asked for the routing number, but i did not want to give that and they said ok.

So yeah i bit. Just to be sure, I decided to check them out online, and am I ever glad I did!!!! I just had a bad feeling about all this, and really know better than to ever give out that checking account number to someone I do not know, but the thought of finally reestablishing credit, and that second time well they really sounded legit.

So far it has only cost $20.00 for a stop payment, but it is going to be a pain on Monday when I am going to have to close my account and reopen a new one.
