Currently, I am an empoyee of a large retail company. I was contacted at my place of work by a "recruiter" for a large financial comany. I was told that this recruiter had been a customer of mine and was impressed with my customer service skills and had interest in employing me at his company.

Besides working, I am in the process of completing my associates degree as a veterinary technican. I am 21, completed high school, one year of "4-year college" and then my curent school. I have no interest nor background in financial services, but due to current situations at my work, a change of pace sparked my interest.

I asked more about the company, but the man eluded all the questions. I was informed that there would be a meeting during the next week. I gave the man my home phone number and asked for a contact number to reach him. He gave me a general phone number for the company and said he'd be in touch.

One of my co-worker's expressed concern in the company being a pyramid scheme. Another asked the name of the company. I thought, and then realized the company name had never been given. I had been told it was "a sub-division of CitiGroup." I did a reverse phone directory search on the web and found it to be Primerica - a company I had never heard of. I entered the name into a search engine and came across this site. One of the first reports I came across walked through almost exactly my experience thus far - an extremely vague, and uninspiring phone call.

I was contacted reguarding the location of the meeting. I still thought I'd check it out - what's one night out of my life?

The next day (only a few days before the meeting) the recruiter stopped by my work. He chanced into me, and informed me that the meeting had been moved one night earlier. That seemed rather odd after he had mentioned that this is a top-ranking financial services company that was looking to open 10-12 branches in my area.

I came home and read more, all 265 reports. Many having near identical experiences. I felt the need to thank everyone at Rip-off Report and those who contribute to it. Had there been a few isolated and unrelated cases, I could easily have fallen into the scheme. Due to the fact that so many have had such the same complaints, I no longer have a need to look further into Primerica as a place of employment.

I know everyone says that word travels fast, but it's true that bad press moves faster. I hope that this site reaches those who need it, and that Primerica becomes a name that people know, and not in the good way.

Thanks!

I am amazed at all of the reports i have read. I have been with Primerica for 2 years and I am doing very well. Primerica is regulated by the department of insurance, department of banking and finance, and the SEC. So Get the FACTS!!! because all of these are nothing but peoples negative opinions...NOT FACTS. so if Citigroup and primerica are s****.?
