I ordered this vehicle off of an eBay auction. The vehicle was advertised to be in good running condition. I spoke with Brad Kidd, a salesperson, prior to purchasing the vehicle to ask him the average range of the vehicle. The vehicle is powered by compressed natural gas and I wasn't familiar with this type of fuel. He took some time to look into it for me while I was on the phone with him and he told me that it averages 150-200 miles per tank. After purchasing the vehicle I arranged for shipping of the vehicle. I received the vehicle on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 via the shipping company DAS. After driving it a short distance I noticed the gas gauge seemed to drop rather quickly. There were also a lot of subtle problems, such as the oil gauge jumped around sporadically and there was a loud cranking noise when I made sharper turns.

The following day when I started the vehicle the check engine light came on. I took the car to the Ford Service Center in Sacramento, CA on August 28, 2006. After examination of the vehicle they determined that the onboard computer (PCM) had been left inside the engine compartment and was malfunctioning. The correct location for this device is under the dash on the driver's side. A new PCM was installed correctly. After resetting the computer it was able to read the main reason why the light had came on. The smog/emissions sensor needed replacing. In addition, an inspection revealed that the transmission was leaking.

I took the vehicle home and planned on continuing the repairs at a local auto repair shop. The next morning I was going to take the vehicle in, but it wouldn't start. I figured the battery was to blame so I jump started the vehicle. After idling a few moments I began to notice a burning smell and smoke began to emit from the left hood vent in front of the driver's side. I turned off the vehicle and had it towed to the repair shop. They replaced the smog/emissions sensor and informed me that the battery cable needed replacing and that the smoke was from some leaking valves near the transmission. The necessary repairs were completed with a total cost at that point of over $1,200. I took the vehicle home and will not use it until I can afford to repair the transmission.

This vehicle has been an endless problem since it has arrived. It has been under service or inoperable for a majority of the time since it arrived. I was lied to about the status of the vehicle and about its fuel range by the eBay listing and the salesperson. I have since tried to contact their organization to work out a resolution, but I have not gotten a response. Quin from customer service informed me that something could probably be worked out for a reimbursement of repair expenses, but she has not gotten back after I continue to leave messages. I resulted in requesting a return of the vehicle to them because of the terrible state it was in when they sold it to me.

This organization puts its efforts into advertising and selling vehicles to consumers and then leaves them in the dust if they are experiencing a problem afterwards. I would recommend that anyone who is thinking of purchasing a car from Pro Auto Group of eBay or Fort Worth, TX to beware.
