Back between 2000 and 2004, my ex husband and I got cell phones from what was then Cingular Wireless.  After we split, we both continued to use and pay for our phones.  The phone plan was under my name, so when we received a huge bill, my ex refused to help me pay for it even though we both used the phones.  After awhile, the bill went to a bill collector (PCC), which I began to pay for.  When the economy fell through, I contacted Greg at PCC and explained to him that I could no longer make the payments that I was originally paying, that I would have to pay less, due to being on unemployment.  Then, I couldn't afford the payments at all, to which then I contacted Greg with PCC and once again explained to him that when I got a job I would begin making payments.  After this phone call in October, I heard nothing from the company, they stopped calling.

In April of 2010, I was in the hospital GIVING BIRTH, when my phone rang.  Unfortunately, I didn't answer the phone.  The person calling left a message, which I forgot to return.  A few days later, when I went to go to the store to get diapers for my new baby, my card was declined!  I called my bank to which THEY informed me that a lien had been placed on my account, the collections agency never even notified me.  I asked the bank if they could send me all the information, which they did.  When I contacted the attorney on the case, Scott Wu, I got a voicemail to which Greg from PCC then called me back.  I thought that once attorneys were hired they had to continue to go through them.  I spoke with the agent, explained the situation, to which he then begin to tell me in so many words that I was a loser and that the lien would stay in place for the next 10 years.  I happily responded that this was enough to make me not want to get a job for the next 10 years, just so they wouldn't get their money and then hung up.  The agent has since called me to try and rectify the account, which I have not responded.

This company has not ONCE sent me any notifications by mail, I never received anything from them, only from my bank once the lien was in place.  On multiple occasions I asked them to send me a statement so that I could show that I initially had been paying on the account, until I lost my job, and never received any response from them.  I notice online that MANY people are suing this company for their debt collection practices, which also includes attorney Scott Wu.

In regards to this complaint, I had the same thing happen to me between the same years. more nlike in 2005-2006. Never once did I receive a notice from this comapny as to what their intentions were. Only when I had a lein placed on a bank account belonging to my 16 yr old daughter. I feel for this person in the complaint due to the same thing happening to me. Its scary how similar our situations are except I wasnt in labor. My daughter was away at a dance camp at disneyland on a saturday, when I got a call from chase bank telling me they had taken all her money for A 10 YR old debt I didnt even know I had in collections because I thought my ex had paid it. The lein has not, to this day been lifted from my daughter account and she was forced to open another account on her own at a different bank.
