I live in NJ and added my demostic partner to My insurance and they will not cover her medical expenses in accident because she is on the coverage but not labeled as "Named Insured"
We were both on the phone with the agent when we added her but the agent never told us / disclosed that she would not receive the same benifits. Progressive did not tell us this until we had an accident. I believe this is nothing short of deceptive practices.
My complaint was discussed with three Progressive Medical claims agents (Rachel, John, and Curtis Hopkins) who were all very nice and even agreed that this is a process gap, but keep trying to defer to New Jersey's No Fault Laws. NJ Law is broken but that is a differnt issue. This is about what I see a Deceptive Practice.
All three progressive agents agreed having both of as "Named Insured" is a option and they will fix it on my policy, and has no idea why this is not described when you sign up for a policy or add a member. This complety ignors the fact that Progressive does not fully disclosee facts, or policy options. Further more I was told they had other customers compain and other then making another escalation there is nothing they can do. In my opinion this is a decptive practice used to not pay medical expenses to paying customers.
