On Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 I attempted to make a purchase from Promotional Product, Inc. for a variety of imprinted promotional items.  One item in particular was an imprinted "table runner" to use on tables at trade shows.

A screen capture of the item as it appeared on that day (and the several days prior, during which I was doing my cost comparisons and budgeting) can be found here: (((REDACTED))).

The item gives every indication that it includes a 1-color screen printing on the table runner, using language that is similar for every other imprintable item in their inventory.  Please note the use of phrases such as "First color included", "Imprinting 20 x 24", and "Decoration Method: Screen Printed" - as well as the photographic representation of the runner with imprinting and NO indication that the printing is not included. 

Today I was informed by Jennifer at the business that the cost of the runner does not include imprinting.  When I further questioned how this could be, Jennifer said she herself couldn't see any indication on the web page that it was not included, and that she would check with her boss on the matter.  When she called back later, she left a voice mail for me indicating that her boss said that despite what the site shows, he would not honor the price on the website for an imprinted item.  I have saved this voice mail, in case you should need it.

I believe this to be a prime example of misleading or fraudulent advertising, and I hope you will take measures to protect consumers from this type of deception in the future.

I myself now have wasted 3 days of comparison shopping and budget planning based on this fraudulent information, and will need to begin my efforts all over again.  I hope by reporting this activity to send a clear message to this company that such tactics cannot be tolerated.

P.S. - I notice now that they have suddenly added "BLANK" to the item description on their website (although they have left all the other misleading terminology in place).  In my opinion this further underscores their recognition that they erred and should have honored the price as advertised.
