I had pro tech install vinyl siding on our Condo Building on Indian Shores Aug of 06. They beat out best quote by 3500.00 dollars and did an excellent job, very professional and lived up to their agreement. The reason I am writing here is I was looking on line for their number to get another estimate from them for more work and I saw this and knew they were a lot better co. than the miserable person on here portrayed them to be.

I worked for them for 6 months and had a very good experience. They did have a manager that said not to set appointments with "ethnics" and that person was fired once the owners got wind of it. You are right that they had zero blacks working for them but nowhere does it state that they must hire any. In the 6 months I worked there they never once even had a black person come in for an interview, so would be hard to hire any if they didnt even see any. They paid me every Friday and I never once had a discrepancy with a check. I even got a check 2 weeks after I left on a commission I didnt even know I had coming. They do have high turnover but that is standard with commisioned sales and telemearketing departments. In the 6 months I worked there I never talked to one potential or previous customer that had a bad experience. Overall I found it to be a friendly work environment with a good potential. They need someone to come in there that is not an "old school salesman" with "old school ways" and bring that place into the 21st century.

I was a telemarketer for protech, i liked my job at first, until i realized i was working for a bunch of racist, cheap, swindlers. There is not one black person that works for the company, our manager told us to hang up on Jamaicans, Mexicans, and Black people. I made appointments everyday and therefore had alot of sales. there commission scale was $15 for a sale of less than $1500 and $30 for a sale more than $1500, i had more than 7 sales i was awaiting commission on for over a month, i quit, and still no commission, the idiots even screwed up by giving the payroll company the wrong SSN therefore not reporting my taxes... and they told me and every one else that theyve been i business for over 15 years???? well your liscence says differently buddy... they have no customer database therefore if your being called by these people 3 or 4 times a day, and you actually buy the product, theyre still going to keep calling you!!! Ive talked to customers and they told me that there was installers in the home and i didnt believe him, so he put the guy on and it was a installer!! cant you people do anything right? theyre website is full of typographical errors, and lies, they say they are doing free estimates but, they told me that if someone wanted only a estimate and had no money they wouldnt even go to theyre house.

This is nothing more than a typical breach of contract case. I had a contract signed, witnessed in front of my significant other, your salesman and my Contractor . Sir, your company,Protech, ceased services in breach of our signed contract. You are now asking for double the price contractually agreed to -- an action for which there is no basis in our contract.... Your salesman James Doyle, is an authorized agent of the business...that you, hired to sell your services to me.....UNDER AGENCY LAW : even if he was not expressly given authorization to bind the contract, he is an agent representing your comapny. So, I am sure he bound the contractas we all signed your contract sir. You did a material breach of contract, the agreement--[this simply means that one party did not do what they agreed to and it is material becasue,it is a big deal, to say it in lay terms--mine was clearly a big deal; that the breach in our contract caused damages to the entire perimeter of my home. You call it it dretching, drenching, the property. It took your employees, (wearing PROTECH t-shirts) a total of approx 3-4 hrs to dretch up the entire 5,000 sq ft perimeter of my home and then, decided to tell my husband to pay DOUBLE the contractual amount, or they are walking off the job.... and not even in a nice way....so we sent them away, as any homeowner would do in this situation. The bottom line is this is a simple breach of contract claim. I had a valid, final contract and PROTECH breached. Thank god we never gave them any monies, they were so kind as to let us know that we didnt need to pay them in full until we were COMPLETELY SATISFIED with the work they have done for us... some more things that really bother me about this company: owners: tim and donna salermon, installation manager/ possibly an owner: terri seligman, inside manager/protech installation supervisor ?: Rick Ryckman, sales rep: james doyle, signed contracts with us before damages incurred. On 9/12/05 I gatehered some info on protech, something really strange is going on here. I have contacted chuck coker, the sales manager of floridas distributors for Texcote Mfg , the product you where suppose to paint on my home, this "super paint" for the exterior coating of homes. Chuck said that Protech has never had a complaint filed against them in all the 15 yrs that they have been buying the texcote product from him. (800-454-0340 ext 259). I did a little research and found out the following: so I wanted to give your company the benefit of a doubt and believe that it was jsut a mistake, but.....how can it be possible if the state certified - residential contractor # CRC- 1327728- has been in business since jan 2005 , Barry Silugmund?? As per the florida dept of business and professional regulations, 850-487-1395 representative? And your company keeps telling me to deal with the manager Rick Ryckman, when I want to speak to the OWNER of protech, who I think is Tim and Donna Salemon, as per your licensing number?. The florida dept of business and professional regulations has the former qualifier of protech listed under Noah Valentine, under the st petersburg address, and his business license has been active since 2003. Who is he? another owner?? I guess maybe Teri seligmund is the owner of this company?? Or who really is , and when you find them, have them please contact me. So who is Noah Valentine? former qualifier of Protech servides business lic since 2003?? Im as confused as you are but still,if you add up the numbers, none of them have been distributors/ installers for Texcote for 15 years, or maybe I am missing something? Mr Sigmund, why dont you just be a mensch, and do the right thing here. Do you sleep well at nite?? I wonder.....I am also getting in touch with the county, but the gentleman is on vacation, as they are the ones that REGULATE paint licenses in the county and should be able to help me furthur figure out who the owner of Protech is. So did you send sub-contractors to do the work you contracted for??? You didnt tell me that either before you destroyed my property. The BBB is behind 6-8 weeks with complaints against other florida contractors. I cant wait 6-8 weeks, so I also called 7 of the 8 Protech references on the sheet that James Doyle was kind enough to give me,for homes that Protech did work on in my neighborhood Holiday, FL. Did you know this??? 5 of the 7 where happy about the product and service and have only had the paint on their homes for 1-2 yrs. very expensive exterior paint as it is approx $3.50/sq ft, a lot more than your average exterior paint quote. 1 of the 7 was a 86 yr old woman, had the home done 10 yrs ago, and the story she was telling me was heartbreaking. Very unahppy wiht the product and service, but too old to fight and complain against protech. the subcontractors protech hired at that time admitted on being on dope, all kids working, home was real moldy on one side , paint lighter on one side than the other, refused to do her shutters as per her SIGNED contract agreement and had to fight with them to do the work, her wodden mailbox went missing, her step ladder went missing and it keeps getting worse. 1 0f the 7 was a gentleman that had his home done 4 yrs ago, last years hurricane , the paint peel and bubbles all over his home, protech was kind enuff to give him the product for free but charge for labor, he went and bought a good elastomeric paint and re did his home himself. the eight person didnt answer their phone. your texcote distributor, chuck, was also kind enough to tell me that he had a problem with the letter , i have in writting , about your claim on waterproofing my home. Do you even know that the product that you are applying is water repellant and not waterproof ? So what I have in writting , Im sure is just another figmund of my imagination, my apology. so your lifetime guarantee is something usless isnt it??? You have been in this business for 15 yrs or more, please dont let your clients educate you on what your job is. Mr Silugmund, I guess the Protech reference list was jsut another figmund of my imagaination. And I guess I should sue you Mr Silugmund for lying and destroying my property. Or just lay back like the rest of your references and let you take advantage of us too. So please before you rebuttle again, at least get your facts straight, as you are an insult to my intelligence sir. Your company never did any work????? so how do you explain the damages to my property???????? where the employees wearing protech t-shirts jsut another figmund of my imagination????? was your liability insurance adjsuter, that was kind enough to come to my home ,another PHANTOM, or did I jsut mysteriously get that info on your company becasue I have nothing better to do?? or maybe your salesman gave me a copy of all of your licenses and refrences prior to destroying my land. Im confused........ was the employee that you sent to my home yesterday wed 9/14/05 to REPAIR the damages that your company caused on my property again, jsut another figmund of my imagianation also???? I will sue you sir, if this continues and my property isnt put back exactly the way it was prior to me contracting your company...... I promise you that........ whoever the owner of PROTECH is or isnt.... I will let the BBB in your county, Fl Dept of Business & Professional Regulations, and consumer advocate in pasco county figure that one out, as I need to go and fix the water damage that the dretching to my property that your Phantom workers caused. And for the $30,000 that I am allegidely suing you for , please donate it to the Katrina cause, as sir, I really dont need your money, do some research on me before you think I do. And please send more than one man and one shovel to my home to fix the damages, as your original, 3-4 man crew, caused some major damages to my estate, and please inform your staff of what needs to be done before wasting anymore of my time when i am at my home working and having me do your job for you.......Sir, I do hope you sleep well at nite with the business practices that you are conducting here in the state of Florida. I rest my case, and still no phone call from the OWNER of Protech....... I wonder why??????

These people asked us to stop by and give them a free estimate on putting a lifetime coating on their home. Our sales rep either intentionally or by mathmatical means made a mistake in the measurments of the home. when we notified the customer that the measurements of the home were 60% off, We explained why and showed them, of course 60% would equate to more than double the price of the original quote. we were apologetic and gave them the figures that they should have recieved in the beginning. We are a reputable company that does work throughout central Florida. We do Quality work and take pride in this. We never took any type of deposit from this person. However this person now believes becuase of the mistake we owe her $30,000.00. She has already contacted our insurance co. to place a claim ( please keep in mind we never did any work) within a few days of notifying her of the mismeasure. Then we find out the home is uninhabitable, she's suing some other insurance company and is asking our's to help her out. She has stated many threats to protech through third parties trying to intimidate us with attorneys. We did nothing wrong. A salesman made a measurement mistake. The contract was never accepted by the company to do the work. This person is just looking to take advantage of a good company and cloud our good reputation. This person is upset because we didn't allow her to rip us off.
