I just won my small claims judgement against this outfit in Denver court July 7, 2008. This company has failed to respond to interrogatories and should be avoided at all costs. I am pursuing legal action to get the money they owe me.

I had them install a new oak floor and refinish an existent oak floor in my home. After 1 month I had huge gaps forming between boards in my new install. They did not acclimate the material prior to installation. The finish job was pathetic.

I hired an inspector from the National Wood Flooring Association to assess the work performed. His recommendation: pull up the new floor and reinstall and refinish the entire floor again. I sued ProWorks for the entire cost and the judge saw it my way!

Their workmanship is pitiful. Reasons why you should stay away from these people...

(1) THEY DO NOT FOLLOW INDUSTRY STANDARD PRACTICES!!!! They did not acclimate our material prior to installation. They did not take periodic moisture readings of the material. They did not put down a vapor seal.

(2) They CLAIM to be members of the National Wood Flooring Association on their web site. The NWFA proposes the guidelines above, but ProWorks ignores them. I called the NWFA, they know nothing about ProWorks Flooring!

(3) They CLAIM to be bonded and ensured, its a lie!

(4) DoneRight Directory dropped them from their service provider listings because of the complaints they recieved about the awful jobs this company was putting out.

(5) They have had plenty of complaints the last couple years, check out the Better Business Bureau

(6) I've gotten email and calls from past employees and subcontractors that claim they are owed money by Proworks Flooring.

(7) They use subcontractors and people off the street to work their jobs, people with absolutely no relevant work experience. Note that their web site claims they don't use contractors.

ProWorks Flooring Fails to File Interrogatories

#3Author of original report

Sat, July 19, 2008

ProWorks Flooring lost in Denver small claims court 7/7/2008. They had 10 days to file interrogatories (i.e. disclose financial information for collection). Neil Landauer was told by Dave over the phone about the deadline. This flooring business really needs to be put under. Planning on class action suit shortly.
