We contracted public Van Lines to do our move. Our move price was based upon everything they had to pack, large items only. I packed all small boxes and was told it would not matter how many small boxes I had, according to Alisa.  (Representative of Public Van Lines)

My original price was $3600.00.

The day of the move they showed up with a small truck that could only half of my house holds goods. They then said they would have to charge me more because my I had more items than originally stated. They also said they would have to crate my two Harley Davidson motorcycles, and this also would be an additional charge. I was charged $6500 for my move, they called it a flat rate.

When my house holds goods arrived in Tennessee, all the small boxes that we packed arrived in tact with nothing broken. The large items that were packed by Public Van Lines had several damaged items. Neither of the two Harleys
was crated, and I was charged $500.00 per crate, per bike. This can be verified by my California neighbors and a cleaning person. As a result and damaged occurred to them in excess of $4000.00. Furniture was scratched deeply or broken and
assembly parts like screws and other items were missing.

Public Van lines have a company called Anthem Claim Management in Arizona to handle their insurance work.
They say they settle claims within 90 days as federal law states they should. It is on their recording when you call in.
They received my claim on the 11th of November, 2012. It is past February the 11th of 2013, and my claim is still not resolved.

They say that Public Van Lines (their client) has delayed sending them needed paperwork so they can process my claim, and they cannot proceed without the paperwork from Public Van Lines. In December I sent them an email requesting that they send the needed paperwork to Anthem, I have called numerous times and they promise me on the phone yes we will send it right away and still nothing has happened.

I feel I have been taking advantage off by this company and want to make sure  that others should never suffer such a horrible move as I did.

I just want my furniture repaired or replaced, my motorcycles repaired and or the damaged parts replaced and I would love to sleep in my bed again. They broke my Tempur-pedic mattress and we are sleeping on the floor since September 2012.

I can only hope that their is someone out there who can stop this fraudulent company with their big lies and terrible service from taking advantage of our countrymen and women who work hard for their money. Someone please stop this company from conducting any more business in the US.
