I discovered a beautiful website selling nothing but miniature puppies, tea cups and imperials.  I found one dog I was particularly interested in. She was beautiful! I arranged to drive down to Ft. Lauderdale and pick her up.

I spoke in great length on the phone with them, that I did not want a puppy from a mill. I also was adamant about buying a small Shih Tzu. Also, a healthy one. The salesman assured me she was indeed a "small dog, an Imperial Shih Tzu as commonly called. Healthy and happy."

I paid $1400.00 for the dog. I was able to hold her for one minute and she was swept away while I paid. I was not allowed to know the breeder's name until full purchase. Then, I was taken  for a "shopping spree" with a basket they provided and instructed to get all sorts of mini items for my new puppy.

Things were absolutely beautiful and way, way expensive. I wanted to buy a doggie purse but I had one and decided it would suffice. I have one Imperial Shih Tzu and she often goes with me in it. This puppy did not fit in the carry case like the other one had. Then, I knew I had been scammed.

My puppy is now over 10 lbs. She was born in July, 14. She is going to be a big girl. I had her spayed via my vet and the vet discovered a healed, sutured scar and a scar on her arm, unsutured. I was not given this information when I purchased her. In addition, she had been treated when she was new to us for Giardia, a parasite. Her ear flops open and she is very high strung. She jumps like a Jack Russell. I might think she has some Jack Russel in her as she is so long and lively.

I called the store and gave my information to at least three people. I heard nothing. I then insisted on speaking to the manager or owner. Her name was Angel. She told me I could return the dog. Of course, I have bonded with it. I also discovered that she did come from a puppy mill. A notorious one in Fulton, Kansas which had been cited previously for some deplorable conditions. I was appalled. I can see why she had a scar on her arm from the sharp edges on the cages.

I discovered the owners name of the Puppy store in Ft. Lauderdale. I googled him and he has been known as a scam artist in the puppy world. He owned three puppy stores and kept changing their names to fool people. Three of the stores were shut down and he opened a new one in a new location fooling everyone. I was one of them.

He has done time in jail and or prison, Mr. Jim Anderson is known all over the puppy world for deceptive practices along with his wife, Gilda. Oh, do I feel ripped off! I want my money back. I didn't sign up for a dog that had previous surgery and I didn't sign up for a standard Shih Tzu! Please do your homework before buying a dog from this place. Looks are deceiving.
