Pure Weight Loss - LA Weight Loss Centers not open for consumers to pick up prepaid bars Fairless Hills Pennsylvania
I did not see the 20/20 report and (sadly) did not look up Pure Weight loss before joining. I actually had positive results with LA Weight loss 6 years ago, so when Pure called me and invited me to try the new program, I felt good about it. Big mistake!
I received a letter in mid-December informing me that they were closing and that I could pick up my bars by January 4th. The letter said nothing about the hours of operation. I went to the center 3 times during regular hours, but they were closed. I called repeatedly to see when they would be open, but there was no answer and no message. I emailed the company using the link on their webpage and asked about the hours so I could pick up my bars. No response.
Tonight, after work, I drove there again only to find a a sign "sorry we're closed" with a sad face emoticon. Another woman was standing outside the door feeling angry and frustrated. She confided that she had even tried going to another center with no luck. She called it a rip-off and we both agreed there should be a class action suit.
If they intended to make good on prepaid product purchases, they should have listed the hours of operation on the letter, on the website, and in a recorded phone message. Clearly, they did not have good intentions and simply did the minimum (sending a vague uninformative letter) to protect themselves.
I'm wondering if they changed the name and solicited old customers KNOWING they were goung to close. In other words, was there intent to get as much new revenue as possible before shutting down?
