Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I contracted on 11/13/2007 for Pyramid Remodeling Company (Fereidoin Khandaghabad)he has everyone call him David & he is the person I met and discussed the job with.

He is the owner and sole propietor the best I can research! After checking a few references of his I contracted for $1300 down to get the job started and I was told it would take 4 days for them to demo my master bath & guest bathroomsof the existing builder's grade tile and I was supplying 100% of the ceramic tile (Flagstone-Corrinthian) Interceramic brand tile.

Well on the 2nd or 3rd day on the job after seeing what a mess my beautiful home was in I new there were probems.

I'll start out by saying that I made it perfectly clear that the tile workers that he chose to do the job were Mexicans that could not speak English & I speak fluent Espanol & have much respect for the honest, har-working ones that are herer legally, but realized quickly that these guys were sub-contractors or day laborers themselves because I specifically requested for them to cut the tile on my back patio as I had set them up out there away from my kitchen and Dining Room!

Well, much to my amazement & distaste they cut tile in my garage with the kitchen entrance door opened & even cut tile in my bedroom as indicated by the major tile dust all throughout my beautiful home!

When I mentioned this to David he explained to me that these guys don't listen and as we were walking through the progress of the job and I questioned him about a particularly bad area that did not look good-he stated, "these guys told me they could cut/lay tile & I said "Whoa, you told me you were doing the job & that's when things started to deteriorate!"

I stated no man, I checked your references, not some guys you picked up at Home Depot as day laborers. After 3-4 days of this and Thanksgiving W/End approaching I received a phone call from him the following Sat. morning stating that he had gotten locked up and had been in the Dekalb Co. jail for fighting in Club Europe and that he wasn't goiong to make it Saturday to finish the job!

I gave him the benefit of the doubt & let hime come back Sunday after a good night's sleep and thejob just got worse. He also took it upon himself to not wait on me to get to my home the following day and pried my Rear Kitchen window screen open and climb in my window to gain entrance into my home. Well this along with the botched tile job prompted me to cancel the check for the remaining balance after he claimed they were completed with the job & clean up!

David then proceeds to get pissed at me and demand payment after I stopped the check and he tried to force Dekalb Co. police to inquire with me about the stop payment at my offfice and after I explained to the police offficer that it was a civil matter where I was challenging his work in court under a civil lawsuit or a mechanic's lean rebuttal then he said "we're done here-take him to court"!

I am not just ranting for no reason here people, I don't want any home owner to go through the hell I have been going through this past year and a month later I still could not use my showers!

Please indulge me as I explain- I had several estimates for the damages incurred including grout everywhere on the tiles, floors, ceilings, ceiling damage where the laborers busted my ceilings in my foyer/upstairs entrance witht he DuroRock they use to put the tile on!

Dan Clough from Topp Floors in Suwanee, GA came out & stated: " I own a flooring store (specializing in Ceramic Tile & hardwood floor installations and have been in business for 20 years & I obseved the following:

#1) The clean up after the grouting was done was the worst I have ever seen. There was grout left on the face of the tiles as well as large areas in most of the corners.

#2) 2 tiles that were installed around the plumbing fixtures in the hall bath were cut in half & pieced back together. The fixtures should have been removed & holes drilled in the tile so they would have been full seamless tiles. If the installer was uncomfortable removing & replacing the fixtures he should have at least given the customer the opportunity to do so or have it done by a licensed mechanical contractor!

#3) Instead of usijng bull nose tiles where the tiles ended, the installer tried to grout the edges of the tile to hide the edges. The customer supplied their own tile on this job, however the installer should have discussed the options prior to installation.

It is possible the customer could have gotten bull nose tiles to matchthis tile & have it looked more finished and complete! This process resulted in significant wall damage that needs to be re-painted.

#4) There was extensive damage done to the surface of the battub & shower floors of both the master & guest bathrooms. The installer should be totally responsible for this.

Consequently, I discovered that Intercermaic does make a bullnose finishin the style that we have and I was able to pay another installer from Topp Floors to correctly install it & now it looks great! I also had them do a prfessional job on the seamed 2 tiles in the guest bathroom at a total cost of $550.

Not only did they botch my tile job and break into my house to gain entrance & dusted my entire house by not properly covering my valuables but they sctratched and chip damaged both my fiberglass & metal bath tubs which I had to get reapired at an additional cost of $175.

Also the Master Bath shower was not proerly re-installed & a contractor I hired had to dismantle the shower surround to correct improper installation of the threshold (weep holes were facing toward outside of the shower incorrectly). Added screws that were left off to door for proer operation (hinge pins were not attached to door frame). He re-assembled shower surround & siliconed & caulked as needed. He also had to fabricate and install interior water diverter on shower door which was lost in the mess.

Hall/Guest Bath had the new faucet installed on the tub to butt into tile as the botch tile job guys had it exposed ore than an inch from the tiles and he siliconed & caulked it in as needed.

Cost $257

After cieiling repairs of $225 and these above repairs I am out of pocket another $1207 dollars and I cancelled(stopped payment)on a check to Pyramid Remodeling fir $1215. I am so thankful that I stopped payment on this check in time as he was trying to cash it after I warned him not to several times!

Bottom line is NEVER USE Pyramid Remodeling in Tucker, GA 30084.

Thanks for listening! Caveat Emptor-Let the Buyer Beware!
