A young man approached me while I was working in the yard and started telling me that he played baseball for a college in murfressboro, TN and he was trying to raise money for a baseball trip. He went on to say that he lives with his step dad and mom in the subdivision next door to us. He said his dad was a pediatriton but had a window washing business on the side that he had helped his older brother start. He said his dad offered a free window washing of your house to the next person that sponsered 5 kids to have childrens books, which was $300. My house is around 6500sqft and 3 stories....so i thought what a deal and wrote him a check. He gave me his phone number, address, and a receipt and said he would be at my house the next day at 12:00 to start on my windows.
Well the next day he never showed up, so I tried to call him. His number was not in service. I looked up his address and there was no such address in TN. I then began to get nervous and canceled my check. I started reading the receipt which stated This company is not in any way related to a non-profit or charitable donation, sponsorship program of any kind. and in order to cancel your order you had to cancel before it was the third day after the dated receipt. When I looked at the date on the receipt it was back dated 3 days. I WAS SCAMMED
