Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I told Eric Rudowicz that I was undecided about which mortgage company I was going to do business with as I was getting quotes from several. I told him that I did not want to proceed to the point of him spending any money until I made a decision. He said they required a $500 temporary charge to my credit card in order to make a quote. I asked him several times if my money would be refunded if I decided not to proceed with his company. He guaranteed me that I would not lose any money. He swore that his company was the best for me because he could get me the lowest rates and fees in the business.

When I found out that he had lied and USAA was much lower in both interest rates and fees, I requested him to refund my money. He has refused to refund my $500 and is demanding that I send him signed copies of my sales contract, the Good Faith Estimate from USAA and other documents. There was nothing said before of any requirements for my refund other than my decision. QuickenLoans is apparently a very unethical business.

as a former employee with this company, let me just say a few things. As for the names you mentioned, I don't know them but there is no "manager", there are directors of mortgage banking that manage a team but as with all middle management they have directors also. Secondarily, giving you money $350-$700 to someone with out seeing any paper work really is your own fault, I dont want to sound like a jerk but, giving your money sight unseen for what is your largest investment is a little like buying a car on line. You can't be surprised when you get it home and the brakes don't work and te guy wont return your e-mail. Having said that, what they do, what I did, is and was borderline criminal, and they know it and if you work there for awhile you feel it and know it too. It's not a horrible company, just a greedy one and Dan Gilbert is the greediest

I think you will find your initial assessment of these pondscum was right! They are thieves. Hopefully they will treat you right, but the likelihood isn't good. Anyone noticed how entering "Quicken Loans" into Google brings Rip Off report to the third or fourth line? Keep Googling and it will be number one for them soon!

#10Author of original report

Thu, October 25, 2007

Geoff Schmidt, the manager at Quicken Loans has assured me that this was all a mis-understanding on my part and that he guarantees me my money will be refunded within seven working days. He said that he asked for the additional documents in order to get me a better deal on my loan. He claims that I jumped to conclusions too soon without speaking with him so I agreed to update the report to reflect his efforts to correct this mis-understanding.

do not send back any signed paperwork. If you dont send them those docs back, they cant charge your card, if you call your CC company and check for your self, and make sure to have them not accept the charge.
