This advertising "agency" has been around since 1963, but they are very shady.  I've been in Radio for thirty years, and RAI's business model apparently hasn't changed in all those years.  They make their money by cold-calling businesses throughout the country, trying to fast-talk these businesses into buying public service announcement-type commercials with pre-packaged themes like "Salute to Troops" and "Breast Cancer Awareness".

The commercials are typically thirty seconds long, and the back end of the commercial script is something along the lines of "brought to you by (insert business name, location and phone number here), on the air, because they care".  RAI will send this broadcast order to a station in the business's local market, along with a check to purchase airtime.

Our group of stations canceled all further business with RAI a few years ago when we found out that they were calling these local businesses claiming to be representatives from our group of radio stations, NOT RAI.  They even went so far as to provide fakes names of our so-called General Managers and Program Directors.

For more insight, read this from the Better Business Bureau's website... https://www.bbb.org/us/il/chicago/profile/radio-advertising/radio-advertising-inc-0654-88465962/complaints

WARNING TO ALL BUSINESSES: If someone calls your business claiming to represent a local media outlet and tries to sell you one of these packages, the best advice would be to get the caller's name, the group they allegedly represent, and a callback number.  Then, Google the contact number of the local media outlet and call them.  Describe the entire phone call to them, and ask if someone with that name works there.  Chances are pretty good that nobody by that name works for that local media outlet.

STAY SAFE, and don't let RAI bully you!
