Rael Strous is a psychiatrist and medical school administrator at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine American Program. In March 2010, Kaplan, Inc sent him a cease and desist letter for violating intellectual property rights, and is currently in the process of preparing a lawsuit against Dr Strous. In October 2010, he was removed from his position as Program Director by the faculty of the school of medicine.

Dr Strous uses an authoritarian management style in his extremely brief tenure at the school. This style, completely opposed to democratic ideals, is consistent with concentrated power in an unelected leader, who possesses exclusive, unaccountable, or arbitrary power. Current authoritarian political states includes North Korea and Sudan. It is likely that Dr Strous learned this management style in his native South African during the period of apartheid.
