Ramada plaza resorts I WORK FOR RAMADA PLAZA RESORTS.... LISTEN TO ME, I KNOW WHAT'S BEST. fort lauderdale Florida .....

Ok guys, I work at Ramada Plaza Resorts. Yes, I know, you hate me already. But actually I'm here for your benefit. I'm going to let you know what to do to get the best vacation if you're already locked into it. Let me just start out by saying that yes, some of the vacation packages are not that great and some of the accomadations are even worse, but let me just explain to you how to make it better. Let's just start with the cruise packages.

(1) If you have an Imperial cruise package (a 2-night cruise) and you are 65+ and looking to just relax on the ship and not looking to do anything that special, then you are fine. This cruise is more intimate, with an older crowd so relaxation will come easier to you. It depends on what you are used to in reguards to what you think the quality of the cruise would be. If you have been cruising royal carribean and princess your whole life then obviously this 17 ton ship built in 1955 wouldn't be that great. If you want better accomadations, ask for outside cabins, you would be surprised what miracles a window does for you. If you want a better cruise, ask about Carnival.

(2) If you have a Carnival package (3 or 4 night cruise) then you are good to go. These are our best packages in my opinion because they provide you with a much better cruise. Carnival has a great reputation and it's about 3 times bigger with 3 times more amenities then Imperial. Just remember that the outside cabins are nicer because they give you more space and a pretty view.

Now let's talk about the hotels. They are not that bad. A majority of the customers who have complained about the accomadations haven't even traveled yet. I know this because I work in reservations were these people come on my line every day. The hotel in Fort Lauderdale (ramada ft. laud) is pretty gross. If you haven't called to book your reservation yet, ask your agent about the Ocean Beach Resort. It costed more money, but it'll be well worth it.

The location is nicer and it accomadates you with more amenities. I'm not going to quote a price because the prices change from season to season. The hotels in Orlando (ramada plaza 1000 and the amerihost) aren't the worst. Between the two, ramada 1000 is nicer, but the Amerihost is in a better neighborhood and gives you more amenities. The hotels in Orlando are not that bad, so I'm not even going to go through the upgrades.

Now, just remember to read your package thoroughly.(you were sopposed to do this within 3 days of receiving it.) Your package is just like a plane ticket, it's non-refundable but you can transfer it or sell it. Make sure that you know about the tour of the timeshare. It's on you second day of travel and it's usually about 90 minutes. If you live in California or Illinois, you don't have to attend. But everyone else must tour the resort, it's the one mandatory thing you have to do. If you recently got the package (within the past month) and you don't like what you see in the package breakdown and you want to cancel, you may have a chance to get you money back.

Every state has different amount of days that you can cancel within, but if you want to cancel, call in and ask for extension 5354. But that's only if you didn't pay off your remaining balance yet. If you did, I'm sorry, but you're stuck. I know it sounds like we just want more money, but the best thing to do at this point is upgrade. Just remember that we can't charge you more for something and give you the same accomadations, so the upgraded hotels or cabins will be nicer.

*** REMEMBER: you are responsible for taxes (about $10 a night), long distance phone calls and room service at the hotel. On the cruise you're responsible for tips (19.50 per person for the 2 night and $29.50 per person for the 3 night), alcoholic beverages, and any beverages in a can or bottle. On the rental car, you're responible for taxes (about $5 a day), gas and car insurance unless you have collision and liability on your car right now. This is all in writing in you package.

Just remember to be nice to every agent, I've seen some bad s**t happen to people's packages when they are rude. Most of us are trying to help you, and if your packages has some flaws in the booking, don't blame us. The people who work in the booking department are dumb as bricks, so it may take them a few tries to get it right. But we will make sure that it is booked correctly, eventually.
