Rate1Moving Company final price 1 1/2 times more than quote, bad delays on moving day, very delayed delivery, bad payment policy Teaneck New Jersey
I chose this company because the estimate quote for moving from NJ to NC they gave me on the phone was $750. It was significantly less than any other company I talked to.
I asked for 1pm on June 23rd, they said ok but than ask me to move it to a bit later time. I agreed. They were suppose to come at 2:30 - 3 pm, but came at 7:40 pm.
After everything was put in the truck they came back with a final price of $1200. To my question how come it's such a difference I was told it's very hard to make estimations on the phone. Well, they shouldn't do it then. It turned out to be 1 1/2 times more original estimate..
I was told initially it takes 7-10 days for the stuff to be delivered. I received mine on on July 15th, over 3 weeks after I moved. I questioned them again. Delays happened,I was told...
It was a lie. I know why they didn't deliver my stuff on time. They were waiting for my friend to move. She was also moving with this company just to another NC town, and on July 7th or 8th, 2 weeks after me. They made it very convinient for them...
Payement policy of this company is very weird if not to say more. 1st payment($250 deposit) they accept a credit card.
As I found out just before my move from my friend they don't accept credit cards for the 2nd payment. Only cash or personal check. I guess it's a good idea to mention it to the customers but they somehow "forgot"...But it's not it. The 3rd payement as I again found out by accident - no credit cards or personal checks accepted. Only money orders. And again no word about it. I probably was supposed to guess.
Summarizing everything as you see I had extremely bad experience with this company and I won't recommend it to anybody
