On April of 2008 I called Grant Resource Center to cancell my free trial membership and that of its affiliates (third-parties). After receiving a confirmation number, I was told that my membership free trial will be cancelled and that of its bonuses affiliates. On April 07, 2008 my checking account was debited $39.95. I was inforned there will be a 3-5 business day reimbursement. Now on May of 2008, I looked on my checking account online banking that I was billed again for the same $39.95. I also inquire the telephone banking representative about a transaction debiting my account in the amount of $1.19. I did not recognize the merchant's name. So I went online and found out that 'CHECK BILL, WAUS KIRLAND, WA' was an affiliator of the Grant Resource Center with the Grant Master CD. At the moment I am in the process of investigating why I was billed $1.19 and who authorize the transaction. I was also billed my 'Network Agenda' who provides Legal Forms as a bonus for the subcription of the Grant Resource Center membership as a bonus. I was also billed by then but was refunded. I have to take it upon myself to contact the third-parties in order to get reimbursed for transactions I never authorize from this merchants. It all started with Grant Resource Center and they pass on my billing information to this third-parties. My Bank inform me that should my account be overdrawn by these transaction, I will still be charged an overdrawn fee, despite merchant's refunds. Now I have to change all of my credit and debit cards and all of my account's information to avoid future unauthorized debits.

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

First, I would like to say, Raven Media is in NO WAY affiliated with 'CHECK BILL, WAUS KIRLAND, WA'. Because someone assumed at one time that we were connected with this charge and posted it in their online complaint does not make it so. As you all know the rules of ROR state that you shouldn't take what is posted as fact unless you yourself have investigated it and know it to be true. Once one person posts something then everyone assumes the same thing and they post it as well - this does not make it true. We are being unjustly accused of being associated with these charges. Second, Network Agenda does not provide legal forms. Network Agenda is an online-only program designed to help it's member's organize their Contacts and Calendar. Their website focuses on 6 points: Web Calendar, Contact Manager, "My Office", Conference Room (online), Data Storage, "Texting Feature", and Web Bookmarks. Everyday Legal Forms is a program that was offered after you entered your credit card information. The next screen offered this optional service - if you weren't interested in this program you simply needed to uncheck the box and you would not have been enrolled with their program. The following disclosure is found directly above or below the submit button where you would have entered your credit card information: Terms and Disclosures. By clicking "Submit", I am ordering the Grant Master CD and trial membership for $1.99 for Shipping and $1.00 for Handling/Insurance, after the 7 day trial I will be charged $39.95 a month thereafter if I do not cancel. I also agree to the 14 day and 21 day bonus trials to Express Business Funding and Network Agenda for $7.95 a month and $9.95 a month thereafter, should I choose not to cancel. I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy / Terms and Conditions. Charges will appear on credit/debit statements as "GRANTSEARCHASST". For questions, call 866-396-5694 M-F, 9am-9pm, EST. You state you never authorized the charges, however in order to receive the free CD you are enrolled in the programs - this is all outlined in the Terms of the offer which you agreed to when placing your order. We DO NOT charge customer's who cancel their services within the trial period, nor do we continue to charge customer's after they have canceled. I would like to discuss Freddy's concerns with him to insure that he is taken care of. I offer an apology for the breakdown in service Freddy obviously experienced. Unfortunately, I was unable to locate your account with the minimal amount of information provided in this report. If you come back to read this and want to discuss your accounts please contact the customer service department. There you will find happy, helpful agents that are waiting to assist you with your concerns. The phone number for Customer Service is 866-396-5718, they are available Monday-Friday 9 am - 9 pm Eastern Time. If our support staff fails to offer the quality and professionalism that we expect them to provide then I would personally like to know about it so that I can resolve the issue so that it doesn't continue to happen. I also guarantee to personally see to it that anyone who has had a negative experience with our staff or company is satisfied. I can be reached on my cell phone at 435-773-1795 or via email at [email protected]. Once again, my apologies to Freddy, hopefully, we will hear from him soon so that we can be sure his concerns are addressed. Sincerely, Ryan R.
