I purchased an RCA mm36100 television/monitor at a local retail chain in November of 2001. When I got the set home and plugged it in, the picture was off the screen. After a couple of calls to technical support, it was determined that the television needed to be repaired.

I was given several phone numbers for local qualified repair centers. I was told by all 3 of the repair centers nearest my home that they would not come to my house to fix my set (RCA said any of the 3 would do this, as it was company policy). Finally, RCA customer service returned my call and said that another technician would be coming to my house.

When he arrived, he immediately said that he had to take it into his shop. 3 weeks later, I get the tv back and find out why this shop was not listed as a qualified repair shop, the VGA mode was still not working (this was the only reason I purchased the TV.) I have spent the last 4 weeks on the phone trying to get customer service to repair my television.

Finally, today I spoke with the 3rd customer service rep on my case as was told that RCA would gladly buy back my television. They did not try to repair it, or even offer to replace it. It was a very frustrating experience. I feel like i wasted 4 weeks trying to get them to fix a product that should have been working in the first place...
