To Whom It May Concern:
I asked Jordana who works at RCS to sent an electrician to evaluate what we needed done and after his evaluation we agreed on a price of $1,900 per the scope of the job as outlined below. I also asked Jordana more than once to amend the invoice to include the scope of job that we discussed. It only addressed the amount of conduit and wire.
This is the job scope that I discussed with Jordana at RCS on the phone, in emails and in text to her and her employer:
Job Scope: We have two double 50 amp breakers in power supply box in garage supplying power to our two houseboats. We contracted RCS to replace the Neutral, Hot and Ground (Gage #6) wire for each breaker (4 breakers). They were supposed to run new conduit and 12 gage # 6 wires from the four breakers in power panel in garage to junction box at our dock.
This contract also included running new conduit and #6 gage wires for both circuits from the junction box over to the pedestal in front of houseboat La Dolce Vita.. La Dolce Vita has a single plug that requires two 125v 50amp services. The pedestal in front of La Dolce Vita now has a single 125v 50amp service for La Dolce Vita . One 125v 50 amp supply for La Dolce Vita is missing after RCS claimed they were done. They were also supposed remove Amore’s 125v 50 amp service from the pedestal in front of La Dolce Vita to the pedestal in front of Amore.
This contract included running new conduit and #6 gage wires for both circuits from the junction box over to the pedestal in front of houseboat Amore. Amore has two single plugs that require 125v 50amp service each. When RCS claimed they were done with the contract. one of the shore power cords from Amore was still connected to the pedestal in front of La Dolce Vita. From what we could see it looks like they never did anything to Amore’s power supply.
RCS’s invoice anotated 200ft. of conduit which proves they knew they were supposed to replace all the conduit and wiring between the four breaker located in Power control panel in garage and to each pedestal in front of each houseboat. From what I can tell they only used about the 60 ft. of conduit. Their electrician decided not to replace any of the wiring or conduit between junction box and power panel in garage for either houseboat that they were contracted to do. RCS’s electrician thought he could get away with using the old wiring and conduit. When they got caught with this deception they claimed it was not part of the contract. This is outright fraud.
Problem:
The main reason we contracted RCS was because we did not believe that the old wiring had any integrity so we were very upset to hear they used any of the old wiring and conduit between the junction box and garage. I had to fly from California to Ft. Lauderdale to investigate what they did and hire a contractor to fix their mistake. We have now had to hire another contractor to do exactly the same job we contract RCS to do. They also did not do any of the electrical work per National Electrical Code (NEC). Their work is shoddy and has little to do with what they were contracted to do. They should have their electrical contractor license suspended. They never met the terms of their own contract (see invoice): Remaining amount to be paid when this installation is complete. When these repairs are complete additional tests will be conducted on to verify that it is working properly.
I had to hire a new company to do what they were contracgted to do. They know nothing about wiring and they should loose their license to work. I have picture showing their substandard workmanship that was not per code. Please do not hire this company as the owwer has zero integrety.
