This letter is regarding a hotel I booked through your website on October 17, 2008. For the past four years I have religiously utilized your site for most of my traveling accommodations. In most cases, I was completely satisfied until recently.

I bided on a one-star hotel in Niagara Falls, New York. I stayed at the Red Carpet Inn. This room was one of the most disgusting rooms I've ever witnessed. I had to request someone to change the sheets because of all the hair and stains.

Most of all, the tub in the bathroom was not only filthy, but the water aggressively poured out all day, not drippedit ran hard! The tub also had a shinny blue film in it due to the bad pipes and running water which indicates that this has been an ongoing problem for awhile. I reported this to the owner and he stated, There is nothing I can do about it until Monday. I requested another room and he claimed there were none available. The room also had a horrible odor and dead bugs in various corners of the room.

I attempted to stay at another hotel but most of the decent ones were booked due to multiple conventions in Niagara Falls. I could not stay at the Red Carpet overnight because of the running water and disgusting accommodations so I stayed a relative house and returned to the hotel to shower during the day. Most of all, my foot now has unusual bumps on the bottom due to taking a shower in the hotel. I took pictures of the tub because I knew I was going to report this issue.

About four months ago after bidding on Priceline, I had to stay in a hotel similar to these conditions. Most of the hotels located on Niagara Falls Blvd are not only in a high crime area but they also have malicious accommodations. I had my assistant aggressively attempt to contact Priceline on October 17th but the number provided kept leading to recorded messages.

On Monday, October 20th, I spoke with a Priceline customer care representative to resolve the matter. I told customer care about the hotel stay and my difficulties with communicating with Priceline. She called the hotel owner and he stated that he would not assist me with a refund. I then called the hotel myself and the owner would not let me speak but insisted on talking down to me. He stated that there was nothing he would do to help justify the matter. He also yelled and mocked me and said that I was whining about the conditions of the room.

I don't normally go this far to justify a matter. I will not pay for a doctor visit due to the negligence of a business owner that has no regard for human dignasee. I understand that a one-star hotel doesn't give me the luxury of a Marriott, but Priceline should have some pride in what they offer their loyal customers.

When you saw the room when you checked in why didn't you immediately check out? I don't stay at places like this and I don't pay in advance for motels. I get a bill when I check out. It has been my experience that Marriott and Hilton have a consistancy throughout their franchisees. When you stay at chains like Super 8, Red Carpet Inns, etc. one might be good and the next bad. You can never guarantee what you might find. You get what you pay for and when you consider that a Fairfield only costs $15-40 more than a Super 8 or Red Carpet Inn and you get a decent breakfast it is well worth it.
