You can try making a loss claim directly to their insurance company. I believe you can insurance information through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (part of the DOT). Check their website www.safersys.org. Also, please take the time to complain to the Attorney General of New York and to the FMCSA. Consumers may file household goods or other commercial motor carrier complaints on FMCSA's nationwide complaint hotline at 1-888-368-7238 (1-888 DOT-SAFT). A commercial complaint form is now available on FMCSA's website at http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov. The form may be mailed to: FMCSA, 400 Seventh St., SW, MC-PA, Washington, DC 20590, or faxed to: 202-366-7298.
