My husband and I purchased a bedroom set from Regency on, 2/11/06, for $8,100. We were told by manager, Hamid, that the set was in stock, however we when got to the cashier, it was noted that we would have to wait 10 days, because we were using a check and the check had to clear. I waited about two weeks and called (1-888-697-3436) to see when the set would be deliverd, I was told the end of the month, meaning by 3/30 (We accepted that).

We went back in the store on 3/11, and purchased a bar set for $2,600 and also insured both the bedroom set and bar set for $600. We told Hamid about the delivery date and he checked and said we would receive the set before the end of March.

We called around the end of the month and we were told that part of the bedroom set was in, but the bar set, mirror, and dresser were not in, yet. I was fustrated, because I was sleeping on a mattress and I ask them to deliver what they had. On 4/3, they delivered the bar set (even though I was told it was not in), and the bedroom set with the exception of the dresser and the mirror.

I was told the dresser would be in the middle of April, didn't happen. I was then told it would be in the end of April, didn't happen. I was then told it would be in the middle of May, didn't happen. My husband went into the store, 5/15, and they told him it would be in the middle of June. I understand the mirror is in, but I cannot use the mirror without the dresser.

Now, I'm looking online to see if I can find another dresser and mirror to match the bedroom set I have and request a refund of my money for the dresser, mirror, and a portion of the insurance back.

This past weekend a neighbor of mine who used to work at Regency part-time said one of the reasons she quit is because of the way they treat their customers. She said if she knew I was planning on buying furniture from Regency she would have warned me against it.

Now, I'm extremely unhappy and would like to return all of it, but they chipped up my hardwood steps moving the furniture up to my bedroon and I don't want them to mess them up any more than they already have.

Based on what Mrs. Daisy wrote, the merchandise was ordered at different times, so the dates that the furniture arrived at our warehouse varied. The first set that was ordered on 2/11 and didnt come in untill the end of the following month, which is the standard 2-6 week waiting period. When Mrs. went to the store on 3/11, a month later, and ordered the bar set that also came in within the standard time. The only thing missing was the dresser, which may have been on backorder at the time. Regency delivered everything, except of course the items that werent in stock. If the dresser took as long as the customer says it did then the customer did have the option of cancelling it, or getting another dresser in place of it. Regency Furniture has to order the furniture thats not in stock from another manufacturer and the customer needs to understand that we do not purposely keep the furniture from the customers on purpose. We do apologize that it has taken a long time for the dresser to come in and I'm sure there were some alternatives that were discussed with the customer. However since there were no invoices, or full names given by the customer in this complaint we have no way of knowing what exactly happened.
