FOREST CITY,#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Thu, January 05, 2006
I was an employee of Regis Corp. I was fired a few days before payday. When payday came, they refused to give me my paycheck. It has been a mont now and I still havent recieved pay. I filed with the Labor Board and they are going after my paycheck for me. With the millions they claim to make, you would think they could pay people what they owe them. I was also told that the Company has and has had many complaints reguarding money owed to them by Regis Corp.

Even if it was an honest mistake, the fault is still on you, not them. The fact that you didn't have $ in your account when you wrote the check started the mess. Why not have your boyfriend deposit that $ in your account right after you wrote the check instead of worrying it would go through too soon?. Just think of it as a lesson learned, thats all.

Writing checks without sufficent funds in your account is a CRIME!!! You are lucky the local DA's office has not issued a warrant!!! From the moment you sign a check if there is not enough money in the account you have comitted THEFT BY CHECK. Maybe you ought to start doing your hair yourself!

Maybe you should re-read the entire thing. I asked her approximately when the check would be submitted. I figured she would know because she was the manager. If she had told me it would only be a few days, I would've put money in it that weekend. But I thought I had some time. So I planned on depositing money the following Thursday. Had I not been monitoring my account, I would not have known there wasn't enough money in it to cover the check. I went in thinking the Salon accepted American Express, because Wal-Mart does, only to find out they didn't, after my hair was already done. That is why I paid with a check. I watched my account to make sure it didn't go through. I believed the manager, but just in case, I checked it for the next several days. When I saw that the check had been submitted and returned, I went to the salon, and gave her a check to cover the amount I originally wrote it for. This check was from my boyfriend. She said when they sent my check back to her Salon, she would submit his in the place of mine. I again watched my account and his, and several days later I noticed the check he had written for me cleared at his bank. So I thought everything was fine. As I already stated, I had quit 'monitoring' my account for a couple weeks or so, because there was no money in it, and no checks outstanding. When I did happen to check it, I saw that it had been submitted a couple more times. That is when I called Regis Corp. The woman I talked to said the manager of the Salon didn't understand the way the system worked. She thought the check would be returned to her Salon, when in fact, bounced checks go to a central place at the Regis Corp. Had I known this, I would've called Regis and asked them where I could send a check to cover the one I bounced. The mistake I made was in assuming they accepted American Express, and not borrowing money to deposit into my account immediately. My pay day was at the end of the next week. What is so dishonest about that?

Oh, by the way.. they will keep trying to cash that check until they get THEIR money. You want it to stop? Go into the salon and pay cash. No reason they should give you money back for doing your hair when you didnt pay for it in the first place. Its dishonest people like yourself that force salons to be strict with their payment methods, that make it harder for people who "monitor" their accounts and don't bounce checks to use them.
