Regus has a Business Platinum Plus plan that allows members to pay a monthly fee and use one of their furnished offices for one full business day ten times per month. This is in addition to their regular leasing of office space on a permanent (full year) basis. Regus requires that you notify them 90 days (3 full months) before you cancel your Business Platinum Plus plan even if you complete your 6 month contract.

This is exuberant and unnecessary since member do not use any one office for more that one day. You are in and out of the office within 24 hours. Therefore, 90 day notification is unnecessary and can be construed as a ploy for getting more money out of member who are not aware of the exuberant 90 day notice policy and are therefore required to pay for three full months past their contract.

On top of that, Regus has not replied to two emails that I have sent requesting an explanation for a 90 day notice for office space that is used for only 24 hours. Although Regus provides a valuable service, this 90 day notice is a rip-off and an abuse of contract (that you are forced to sign to enter the relationship) as well as an abuse of its members. For them to argue that members signed a contract agreeing to the 90 day notice is placing the fault on the consumer. The 90 day notice is excessive and should not be a part of the contract in the first place.

Do not use Regus! Rented for two years and paid every month on time. Told an employee of their firm well in advance of 90-days that I was leaving, then she left the firm (on of many turn-overs they have). Day 90 came and went, then 5 days later I received auto-renewal "Congratulation" from the center manager. Not only was their no pre-90 day warning, but he could not even walk down the hall to confirm prior to this chicanery. That was just 1.5 months ago, and they've already sent my file to collections for over $40,000!!! They're great at sending invoices in advance, providing business advice emails and notifying of systems being down, but they don't offer the courtesy of advance notice of pending auto contract renewal? Incredible, arrogant and abusive. Do not use them, folks. Find someone else.

RESOLVED. Allowed to Exit Contract

Allow me to start by stating that Alicia Hicks from Customer Service is my main and only reason for updating this report as resolved as she was very thorough about doing what was right and placing customers first. She is extremely professional, caring, patient, knowledgeable, and concerned with customer satisfaction. It is ONLY because of her efforts that I am willing to update this report in a positive light.

Due to Alicia's efforts, I was allowed to exit my contract within 30 days. I was even given two day office coupons (to use an office for two full days for free). I am therefore fully satisfied with the result.

I would like to reiterate that outside of this contract issue, I absolutely LOVE Regus and find them to be an excellent and valuable service for all business owners or employees looking for a low-cost solution to office space. The vast majority of their locations are gorgeous, prime real estate, areas. I am not continuing my contract because my company is being bought out by a larger company and I will be sitting on a beach enjoying early retirement. If I decide however to try another new business venture I will absolutely return to Regus. I am sorry that I had to post this complaint over a silly contract issue that I still believe should not apply to business platinum plus members that only use offices on a day-by-day basis for ten days out of any given month. Other than that, go with Regus. You will be happy that you did. :)
