I left an illegitimate company, Relocation Van Lines, Inc. as I was asked to illegally hide files from the D.O.T. I declined to do so or comply with any other illegal requests from my employer in order to prepare for an audit. I was asked to leave shortly after. I received one of the 2 of my last checks on 01/21/08 which has still yet to clear.

When returning to get the physical check of my last and final check, I was told I would not be getting paid at all. A conversation of me questioning the ethics behind this decision lead to a heated argument which ultimately lead me to be pushed into a wall and assaulted. I contacted authorities and made a report.

*To keep the identity of the previous employee anonymous I will refer to her as P.E.* I'm a current employee at Relocation Van Lines, a friend of P.E., and the individual that got P.E. the job here at Relocation Van Lines. I do not want to discredit her in anyway, however finding these false reports against our company came as insult. During P.E.'s last day at the office her and I left to take lunch together. Upon our return to the office the owner of the company addressed us and stated that 2 people can not take lunch at the same time. When verbal rebuttals were given by the both of us, our boss stated "if you don't like it you can leave." P.E. decided she no longer wanted to be employed here. She was not directly fired by any managing staff here, however she was given the decision to follow the rules set forth by the owner or to leave. She personally made the decision to walk off the job. I do not at all blame her for being upset about the money owed to her by our company. She was due an amount I will leave unspecified for commissions on moves she had scheduled and was extremely upset with not receiving the money when it was due to her. It was not the intension of our manager to completely withhold the money she was due, however the company hit hard times in the winter, as many moving companies had over the past winter season, and P.E. was told it would be given to her at a later date. The day P.E. decided to come into the office she called me on my personal cell phone and told me that if she wasn't given her paycheck that day she was going to confront our manager, in a physical manner if needed. I'm putting lightly the actual manner in which she called and am revising the conversation to leave out profanities used. She asked me to look the other way if sh*t hit the fan, however I didn't have to do so as the confrontation took place in the managers personal office. The actual confrontation took quite a few minutes and the manager ran out of her office, and out of the building crying. P.E. and the manager both called authorities, which asked minimal questions, did not question me at all, and left without any action being taken. The manager's nose was broken and ribs were bruised from the situation that occurred; the same situation P.E. walked away from unharmed. I do not have much knowledge regarding the alleged files to be hidden before a DOT audit took place, however once P.E. had left the office I then took over many of her responsibilities, one of which being the audit preparation. I was never asked to hide any files during the preparation, nor was it requested I perform any other illegal alteration of information to be provided during the auditing process. I understand P.E.'s was under quite a bit of stress being unemployed and being asked to wait for money she was due, however I do not believe this gives the right to attempt to destroy the reputation and future business of the company.
