I have previous security experience of 10 years both as a supervisor and officer. Until recently been working in technical support field. Been looking to renew my security class D license (unarmed), having expired. Enrolled in the class D certification, to become recertified. Have no intention in persuing armed security work, and have no need for class G license.
Frm day one of four day course, Rene spend extensive amount of class time Upselling and trying to force students to not only take the unarmed course, but also the armed course as well. As well as conceal weapon course and, baton, mace, handcuff courses. Every morning and afternoon , he did not teach the class. There was a different instrutor. He would make his sales pitch over and over again. He would use ethnic terminology, heavy cursing, very unprofessional. Would try to justify the cost of the extra courses, and guilt trip the students that they have money for cigarettes, alcohol and andrid cell phones. On the third day of four day course, after fingerprinting and notarizing . He interrupted the class again, saying he was going to hold a raffle for a handgun. There were 18 students in class, and he wanted everyone to give him $18.00. He was obiviously trying to get rid of this gun, I said I was not interested in participating in the raffle, when he saw that others were beginning to back out as well. He stormed out of the classroom, came back 2 minutes later and ask me to gather my belongings. I exited the class and the secretary, had already refunded my class cost. Stuck around to ask him, what the problem was, as I was only there to get my certification. Refused to talk to me, only responded after I complained he had wasted three days of my life. And he was very unprofessional, he only responded to ask me to leave again. I left the store.

Mr. Rene was a wonderful teacher and taught me so much! The other instructor is Capt. Nurse and he is also a wonderful qualified teacher and he is also very knowledgeable. They are very strict and firm people and have a unique personality but if you can’t handle them I don’t believe that you can handle the security felid. I would not suggest any other company if you want to get your D and G license. Also they DO NOT push you to do things you don’t want to they just want you to do everything that you can to better yourself and they will give you the push that a lot of us need to accomplish our goals.
I am so glad that I took the class with them and they gave me the kick in the a** that I needed! I personally think that something else must of happened to have him kick you out of class (disrespect or something of that nature) and you are just upset and had your feeling hurt because you couldn't handle it. Also honestly who wouldn’t want to be an armed officer in Orlando, this is a dangerous place if the "bad guys" will shoot at actual police what makes you think they won't shoot at security.
Have a wonderful day

I went to Rene's Security and Training Academy last month, and had the time of my life. He motivated me when no one believed in me. He was very pleasant, and steered me in the right direction when it comes to being a professional security officer. All the information given during the class are things I will use for the rest of my life. Chief Rene is a mentor in the Orlando community, and did everything in his power to help me get a job. I can never thank him enough!!!!
