 I walked into Rene’s Security shack to acquire information and possibly register to take the concealed weapons permit class. I was not greeted when I walked in. As I stood in front of the owner, Mr. Rene, who was sitting behind his desk, it took him almost two full minutes to acknowledge my presence, he didn’t offer me a seat either. As we talked he seemed bothered, I couldn’t tell if it was me or something up his a**; he appeared distracted and disconnected. Despite the rudeness, I did my best to be nice. However, I ended up cutting the visit short by picking up a promotional card from his desk since he didn’t even bother to offer me one. I noticed that the more inquiries I made, the more uneasy he became. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and registered for the classes anyway and left. Once outside, I remember to ask him about finger prints and background check (bio-metrics), so I went back. I walked in again and asked him… “Mr. Rene, are there any other fees for the bio-metrics in addition to the sum I will be paying for the classes?” It was a simple “yes” or “no” inquest. He replied with a pricing theory explanation. I was baffled by his response. I said to him… “I think you didn’t understand me (I went on to repeat myself).” Again, he gave me the same response. So I asked again. To my surprise, he gave me the same mambo-jumbo pointless explanation. Again I said to him… “You are not answering my inquest.” He replied… “I DID, about three or four times already.” I said… “That is not what I am asking for. Maybe, you are not getting what I am asking or maybe I am asking the wrong question…” I knew exactly what I was inquiring about, but I took a chance to put some blame on myself to diffuse his escalating defensive demeanor. At this point he appeared much frustrated than before and irritated beyond belief. I then asked him… “Do you have any idea what they charge for the bio-metrics?” He then pointed out that he has been in business for nine (9) years and that he has and should have an idea of how much they charge. Again, he didn’t answer my inquest. It was obvious to me that despite his experience this man does not have the slightest idea what the concept of customer service is all about. The man was completely bent out of shape simply because after 9 years in the business he didn’t know how to answer yes or no to a simple interrogatory. As I made one last attempt he interrupted me and exclaimed... “NO!” as he crumpled up the paper where he wrote his thesis, threw it in the trash, pointed to the door and said… “Have a nice day.” Disrespectful and rude Threatening demeanor No sense of humor Non-professional No customer service skills No people skills Bad temper Extremely defensive No professional ethics Incompetent Very insecure when challenged Pessimist Degrading verbal expression Unreliable Impractical Easily ticked Complete psychopath In conclusion, anyone with such short fuse should not be in that line of business. They are a potential threat to society. Mr. Rene, I really wish you a better day.
